Another amazing dogfilled weekend here at the Balanced Doghouse.

Fun off leash trail hikes in the back country along with ample play and good socialization sure do tire the pups out.

Just because we don’t schedule client lessons on weekends doesn’t mean we are not working. Our next projected dog free day currently is June 29th…for now!

TBT!

It would’ve been Miss Bella’s birthday this week. This showed up in my memories from a decade ago when I worked for a franchise.

There’s a reason one of her nick names was “madam trash heap”! We were off help a local rescues fund raiser, but not before Bella found a swamp to wade in.

Sibling Sunday with Louis & Eddy, otherwise known as a bonded pack, have a dynamic among themselves.

Two or more dogs in a household develop a relationship with each other. All dogs know each other’s personalities and physical cues regarding tolerances and unwanted engagements.

When you introduce a pack within a foreign group, one must understand that this relationship is going to make for more unique interactions among the entire group.

There could be jealousy.

There could be protectiveness.

There could be bullying

There also could be one happy compounded canine comradely!

BITE PREVENTION!!!

Often our dog’s natural communicators fall on deaf ears. As humans, most of us aren’t taught “Dog Speak” so some clear warnings are misinterpreted or never noticed at all.

Become aware of these signals and share this with everyone you know.
