Often people unknowingly stress out a dog with overly enthusiastic greetings. Over embellished hello’s are more about the persons need to greet and not the dogs comfort level.
Well socialized dogs can truly be excited about these types of encounters but the majority learn to tolerate them, while some can remain offended by strangers doing so.
Always let a dog come into your space and resist the urge to put your hand out, as we’ve all been told.
When they are comfortable, dogs are very good at communicating what’s their groove!
