Understanding Our Training Markers 🐅
Marker “YES” — means I like what you’re doing, and your reward is coming to you. The dog should maintain its position, stay focused, and remain engaged with the handler while anticipating the reward.
Marker “CHIP / BREAK” — means you’re released! The dog is free to break position and actively chase or collect its reward.
The difference is simple: “YES” reinforces the behaviour while maintaining the structure. “CHIP / BREAK” gives the dog permission to release and pursue its reward. Clear communication creates clarity, focus, and consistency in training. #

Young Otto is learning to see the world through my eyes and not make decisions for himself.. Otto is going through a fear pirod and randomly reacting to people and other dogs… some back and forth fight/flight .He has been exposed to life by his owner as He is maturing into these bahaviors can lead to bigger problems down the road.. what makes the training more challenging is Otto has low food drive.. so we work with what we have and be good leader for him and set him up for success.

He’s awesome! So smart and super aware of himself, he’s been one of the easiest pups to train and he’s not scared of anything or anyone!
He’s got the right amount of drive and knows when to use it! What owner says 🤷🇨🇦❤️
