And of course we can't have Vet Appreciation Day without highlighting Dr. William Huttges and Dr. Chelsie Armstrong!
This husband and wife duo started Hometown back in 2015 and there has been so much growth since in the last 11 years.

Together, Dr. Huttges and Dr. Armstrong have built a clinic centered on compassionate care, professional excellence, and a commitment to the pets and families in our community. Their leadership, expertise, patience, and countless hours of work behind the scenes make a difference every single day.

Thank you both for your dedication to veterinary medicine and for the positive impact you continue to make in the lives of your patients, clients, staff, and community. We are truly grateful for all that you do.

Today's Vet Appreciation post will highlight Dr. Lance McLean and Dr. Marsha Daley!

Dr. Lance McLean joined our Hometown team in 2022. He has maintained, and advanced, a special interest in surgery throughout his career, specifically with respect to orthopedics. His expertise in a variety of orthopedic procedures such as TPLO's has helped improve the mobility, comfort, and quality of life of many of our patients over the years.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. McLean enjoys spending time working on and learning about classic cars and mechanics.

Dr. Marsha Daley joined the Hometown team in 2020 and has become a valued member of our practice.
Dr. Daley has a special interest in minor surgery and dentistry and is dedicated to helping her patients live healthier, happier lives. Whether she’s performing a procedure, comforting an anxious pet, or supporting a concerned pet owner, her compassion and commitment shine through in everything she does.

We are incredibly grateful for Dr. Daley and Dr. Mclean's kindness, expertise, and dedication to the animals and families they serve every day. Thank you for the exceptional care you both provide to our four-legged family members!

This Thursday is Vet Appreciation Day. We have too many good things to say about all of our amazing vets to condense it down to one post.
Instead we are going to dedicate a post each day this week to highlight each of our amazing vets.

Today we want to highlight Dr. Amberley Scull and Dr. Vanessa Douthwright.

Dr. Amberley Scull graduated from Massey University in 2024 and joined our team shortly after.
She has a particular interest in dental procedures and takes pride in helping pets maintain excellent oral health, ensuring they leave with happy, healthy smiles.

Dr. Vanessa Douthwright graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in PEI in 2025 where she then joined our team.
Though she has only been with us for a year she has made such an impact on our team.
She enjoys doing small animal surgeries such as spays and neuters.
Her dedication to animal health and welfare is truly inspiring.

We truly appreciate the care, dedication, and love they both show to animals every day. The hard work they put in helps keep our pets healthy and our families happy. We appreciate all that you both do and cannot wait to continue to watch how you grow over the coming years with us!

This week is veterinary receptionist appreciation week and we want to take a moment to recognize our amazing receptionists.

They are the first friendly face clients see and the calming voice they hear during stressful moments. From juggling calls and appointments to comforting worried pet parents.
Their compassion and organization keep everything running smoothly.
