It’s time for a Peri update 💜
Peri was returned to me last fall due to struggling with reactivity and fear, specifically toward strangers.
She was placed in her home as a 6-month-old, which can be a rough time for such a big change. Whatever the reason for her feelings, they weren’t improving despite a lot of effort on her former owner’s part, and she made the right (but extremely difficult and heartbreaking) decision for everyone in returning her to Luxlight.
Peri has been with Denise and Bill for almost a full year now, and I’m thrilled to say she is absolutely thriving.
She has shown no reactivity since coming back to me and subsequently going to Bill and Denise.
She has gone on vacation to Fundy, she was great with their grandkids, she’s come to visit me at an agility trial at FlatOut Dogs this summer, she loves to romp and play in her yard, she enjoys having visitors and neighbors over and even has horse friends across the street that she enjoys supervising!
Sometimes a dog’s personality just doesn’t mesh with its home, sometimes a dog and a person just aren’t a good fit.. There are so many reasons why a dog may not be the right one for a specific home, or why they may need a new spot to land.
Regardless of the “why”, sometimes it’s in everyone’s best interest for the dog to come back.
That’s why as ethical breeders we are there as support for the entirety of their lives, no matter the reason.
Peri Bear is a very happy, confident girl and has certainly found her forever home now with Denise and Bill 💜
