This is a fantastic talk with a Master Breeder.

It isn’t dachshund‑specific, but the insights are powerful across all breeds. Too often, breeders overlook these fundamentals — and hearing them laid out so clearly reinforces that my own program is on the right track.

Here are the pieces that really resonated with me:

• The power of mentorship and building real connections
• Insisting on solid, stable temperament
• Health testing — and not dismissing affected dogs, but learning from them
• Understanding breed type and knowing what you have, what you’re producing, and how to breed with purpose
• Linebreeding — and how to do it thoughtfully and effectively
• Whelping ease and selecting for bi***es who can do the job well
• Recognizing when a program needs a U‑turn, a reset, or a new direction — and accepting that setbacks are part of the journey

✨ We are delighted to share that our girls have now completed their full health testing, and we are thrilled to announce that all results came back clear and normal and now CHIC certified. This is wonderful news, and we couldn’t be happier!

For those considering adding one of our puppies to their family, we encourage you to do your due diligence by visiting the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) website. The results of reputable breeders are posted and available to the public, ensuring transparency and peace of mind.
