Congratulations to Abby and Buttercup on achieving their BH/VT, and Emma, and Billy on their IGP1! Erika and Bastian passed tracking, and protection, but mistakes were made in obedience that cost us too many points. All 3 of these littermates from the B litter made us so proud with the effort they put in. Thanks to Robert Diesenreither from Austria for the wonderful judging. It was a great weekend.

Our Fall CARO Rally-O trial is open for entries!
Date: Oct 31st, 2026 Howl-o-ween Trial 🎃
Location: Eden Dog Academy main classroom, 7084 6th Line, Belwood, ON
Judge: Erika Eden
Offered: 2x Novice, 2x Novice Brace, 2x Intermediate, 2x Advanced, 2x Excellent, 2x Versatility, 2x Versatility Excellent, and 4x Working

Fun Runs: Re-try one course of your choosing, with treats, at any level, for free. The catch: You must have a Howl-o-ween costume to participate. Either human, or dog, or both. Everyone who participates gets a treat, and will be entered for a best costume prize ($20 pet store gift certificate) to be determined by popular vote online after the trial. These runs will not be judged, no Qs, or ribbons will be awarded. CARO rules on collars, leashes, and corrections will still be in place. Please let us know on the day of the trial if you want to be added for a costume run.

This is one of the ways we manage a puppy class with different ages, sizes, and personalities when it comes to puppy play. Did you know that puppy play is more than just a good time? During play your puppy learns how to read body language, and communicate with other dogs. Biting each other helps them learn bite inhibition for when their teeth get bigger, and their jaws get stronger. We might not like the thought of biting, but it is a completely normal dog behaviour, just like yelping to tell another puppy they bit too hard, is a natural part of their learning, and communication. Stress from social interactions helps builds confidence, and resilience. Puppies who engage in play, tend to grow up to be safer, and less anxious dogs.

Puppy Kindergarten Classes are starting this week! 8 weeks for $375 plus HST.

Our puppy classes are open enrollment, meaning you can start as soon as your puppy comes home. They run every Sunday, and Monday at 6pm. The critical socialization period is 7 to 12 weeks, so starting as soon as possible is vitally important to your puppy's development.

*Socialize your puppy to people, dogs, and new places
*Train age appropriate skills and obedience
*Get your questions answered by a knowledgable instructor
*Build confidence in your puppy

Did you know that socialization can, and should start before your puppy is fully vaccinated? A safe puppy class, with other healthy puppies is a great way to get started.

There is still time to train before winter hibernation, don't put it off!

Levels Obedience Group Classes – 6 weeks, $295 plus HST

Our 3 levels of obedience are designed for all dogs over 6 months, and for family pets, service dogs, and as starting place for dogs wanting to do sport later on. Strong foundations are the key to success with whatever you want to do with your dog. If your dog struggles with reactivity, hyperactivity, fear or aggression, please reach out about our private lesson programs.

Level 1: A good first course for basic obedience for dogs over 6 months of age. Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Loose Leash Walking, Targeting, Go To Place, and Leave It.

Sunday October 11th 3:00pm - Emma
Monday November 9th 7:30pm - Abby
Sunday January 10th 4:30 - Abby

Level 2: For graduates of Level 1, or Puppy Kindergarten. Progresses the understanding of cues taught in Level 1 by adding distance, duration, and distraction. Learn how to get your dog to work for toys instead of food. Intro to formal heeling, and off leash cues.

Sunday November 22nd 3:00pm - Emma
Monday January 11th 7:30pm - Abby

Level 3: For graduates of Level 2. Progresses the understanding of cues taught in Level 1, and 2 by adding distance, duration, and distraction. Off leash stays, heeling, and recalls. Introduction to rally obedience and agility concepts. Introduction to formal retrieve for service dog work, or competitive obedience.

Puppy Kindergarten - $375 plus HST for 8 weeks
For puppies starting between 2 and 4 months of age.
The puppy kindergarten course is equivalent to Level 1, but also includes vitally important socialization exercises, and puppy play time.

These classes run Sundays and Mondays at 6:00pm all year round, and are open enrolment so that you can start as soon as you get your puppy.
