Our little shop is overwhelmed with the amount of love and support that has been shown from everyone!

We were not expecting to have such a large response so early on for our little shop! We are so excited to share this space with you.

We are nearly ready for open, but I wanted to address the wonderful outpouring of messages and responses.

It has only been myself and my partner doing all of the hard work to the build the space. We’ve been putting all of our love and patience into it, while still attending to our full time jobs and other responsibilities. In this time, answering booking requests, questions, and monitoring social media has been on the back-burner until we open.

Please bear with us for the last few touches.
If you have sent a message regarding booking, or requesting more information, we will be sending out a message when our books open!

Some dogs don’t act “difficult” during grooming — they’re just overwhelmed.
A dog may need extra patience because they:
• feel anxious in new spaces
• don’t love being handled too quickly
• need more breaks
• are sensitive to sound or movement
• have had stressful grooming experiences before
That doesn’t make them bad dogs.
It makes them dogs who deserve a different approach.
At Misfit Grooming Co., I believe patience, gentleness, and understanding can change the grooming experience for the better.

Each day we’re getting a little closer to announcing our official opening…

But in the meantime here’s a little behind the scenes from getting Misfit Grooming Co. ready.

There’s something so special about building a space from the ground up with a clear purpose: to create a calmer grooming experience for dogs who need it most.

Every detail matters to me — from the layout to the flow of appointments to the feeling I want pets and people to have when they walk in.

There’s still plenty to do, but I’m loving the process of shaping a salon that feels safe, peaceful, and thoughtful.

Building confidence, trust and good looks at Misfit Grooming Co. ✂️🐾

This look book is a little preview of the calm, kind, one-on-one, and knowledgeable grooming that I’ll building for the pups who need a little extra patience, a little extra comfort, and a groom that fits their personality. I’m so excited to share the start of this journey and give a glimpse of the skills, heart, and stress-aware care that will be at the center of every appointment once the shop opens. More misfit magic coming soon. 💛

Time to put some faces to the name!

I’m Christina - Owner and groomer at Misfit Grooming Co! I’ve been working in the grooming industry for 7 years but I’m a fresh face to Centre Wellington, so I figured I'd let everyone get to know me!

I started working in the grooming industry in 2019 as a receptionist and fell in love with the unique dogs I got to spend my days with. In 2021, I moved away from my hometown to Northern Ontario, where I started as a bather and spent a few years as an apprentice under a highly respected groomer. Since moving back home, I've continued furthering my education and have found my speciality with pups who need a little extra patience and love during the grooming process.

When I'm not grooming, you can almost always find me with at least one of my pups by my side! Hershey was my first - She's an elderly chihuahua who steals the hearts of everyone she meets! Waffles is the one who sparked my love of training, and sports. She's a high energy australian shepherd, but she's truly just a cuddle bug underneath all that fluff and excitement! Jackson is the newest addition to the Misfit family - She was originally just a foster who joined our home in October 2025. But after a few months, she decided her furever home was with the Misfits and she didn't want to go anywhere else. She's the resident shop dog, so you'll likely meet her when you come in! She's still in training for quite a bit of anxiety that comes with being a rescue - but she's been making strides, reminding all of us that the world doesn't have to be so scary!

What does kennel-free grooming actually mean?

At Misfit Grooming Company, your dog won’t spend any time in a kennel while they’re here. Instead, they’ll get a calm one on one grooming experience in a quiet environment with services tailored to their unique needs.

For many dogs, that means:
- Less noise
- Less waiting
- Less overwhelm

But at Misfit Grooming Co., it also means:
- Spending the time to get to know your pup and build trust with them, and you!
- Meeting your pup where they’re at in confidence
- Adjusting each appointment to the pup’s unique quirks, needs and personality

Kennel-free grooming can be a huge difference for anxious dogs, seniors and sensitive dogs.

Every pup is welcome here 🐾
