Thursday's are for Horses & Learning!🐴💙

Since early July, our Thursdays have been filled with learning, laughter, and horses as we've welcomed participants from the Niagara Regional Native Centre to the farm!

Some of our riders are returning and building on the skills they learned last year, while others are meeting horses for the very first time. From learning how to safely brush, groom, and tack up a horse to building confidence in and around the barn, every visit is filled with new experiences, smiles, and learning.

We're so grateful to partner with the Niagara Regional Native Centre and share the incredible lessons horses have to teach. We can't wait to see everyone continue to grow throughout the summer! 🐎✨

A huge thank you to the Lincoln Pelham Public Library for bringing Story Time to Horse Sense For Kids! 💙🐴

It was so wonderful to see so many families enjoying stories, and spending time with our horses and farm animals. We love opportunities like this that bring our community together and help children connect with nature, animals, and the joy of reading.

Thank you to everyone who joined us—we loved sharing our barn with you and hope to see you again soon!

🎨🐴 Last week was a colourful one at the barn!

Our riders had so much fun painting the horses (don't worry—it was all horse-safe paint! 😉). There were lots of laughs, plenty of creativity, and our horses were more than happy to soak up all the extra attention.

These are the moments we love most—making memories, building confidence, and showing kids that learning with horses can be fun in so many different ways.

At Horse Sense for Kids, we often talk about the incredible impact one person can have on the lives of others.

For us, that person is Josh.

Over the past few years, Josh has been an incredible mentor, not only to me personally, but to Horse Sense for Kids as a whole. His knowledge, generosity, and unique understanding of horses have helped shape the way we approach our programs and the relationships we build with our horses.

Many of the concepts we teach our participants today - slowing down, listening, observing, building trust, and understanding that behaviour is communication, have been strengthened through what we've learned from Josh. His influence reaches far beyond the barn and has helped us create even more meaningful experiences for the children and youth we serve.

Now, Josh and his family are facing a difficult chapter, and we'd love to help give back to someone who has given so much to others.

Unfortunately, due to the poor air quality, we have made the difficult decision to cancel tonight's Sunset Yoga at the Farm. The health and comfort of our participants is our top priority.

We'd still love to welcome you to the farm this summer! Join us for one of our remaining Sunset Yoga evenings on August 12 or August 26.
