One of the biggest mistakes dog owners make is assuming all dogs should enjoy the same things 👀🐾

Genetics matter.

Chesapeake Bay Retrievers were developed to retrieve waterfowl from icy water all day long. Dobermans… were not 😅

While training can shape behaviour, genetics often influence what comes naturally to our dogs, what motivates them, and what they genuinely enjoy.

Sometimes the differences between breeds are subtle.

And sometimes they’re standing knee-deep in water wondering why anyone would voluntarily swim 🤣

One of the hardest realizations for dog owners is recognizing that their dog’s world has slowly become smaller.

Avoiding walks.
Skipping outings.
Crossing the street.
Leaving them home more often.

Not because they want to… but because their dog’s behaviour has started to feel stressful or unpredictable.

But isolation is rarely the solution.

With proper training, guidance, and consistency, reactive behaviours can be managed and improved — and that opens the door to something every dog deserves: more freedom, more confidence, and more opportunities to experience the world alongside their owner.
