🍁 Happy Canada Day from all of us at Martin Veterinary Hospital! 🍁
Please note that our hospital will be closed on Wednesday, July 1st in observance of Canada Day. We will reopen on Thursday, July 2nd from 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
As you celebrate with family and friends, please keep your furry family members safe:
🐾 Skip the table scraps. Foods such as onions, garlic, grapes, raisins, chocolate, xylitol (found in sugar-free products), alcohol, and cooked bones can all be dangerous for pets.
☀️ Watch for the heat. Make sure your pet has access to fresh water and shade, avoid walking during the hottest part of the day, and never leave your pet in a parked vehicle. If your pet is excessively panting, weak, vomiting, or seems disoriented, seek veterinary care immediately.
🎆 Fireworks can be frightening. Keep pets indoors in a quiet, secure room with windows and curtains closed. Consider playing calming music or white noise, and ensure collars and ID tags are up to date in case a startled pet slips outside.
We hope you and your pets have a fun, safe, and Happy Canada Day! ❤️🍁
