Just because they are naturally missing teeth, does not mean they are not healthy !

What an amazing history this beautiful breed has!

Archaeologists in Peru have discovered the 1,200-year-old remains of three Peruvian Hairless Dogs at the Wari Empire site of Castillo de Huarmey.

Identified by genetic dental gaps and a naturally mummified skull, these canines provide the earliest physical evidence of the breed in the region.

The dogs were intentionally buried alongside human elites, including a teenage boy and an artisan, suggesting they held a significant ritual status.

Isotope analysis also revealed that as puppies, they were raised on a special diet identical to that of local human children.

What does your Peruvian puppy do when they return home after being on the road for 3 days, attending a handling class arriving home late and finally settling back into their normal routine...

THIS! LOL - you can clearly see two dog beds on the end of our king size bed - we have an extension we purposely built for our dogs... They sleep at the end of the bed in their own area.

However, the extension is not good enough for this puppy - Streaker wants the big bed LOL!

I can honestly say this is the first time in 43 years of owning dogs. We've never allowed a dog on the bed and it wasn't by choice.

Bad habits start early. Unfortunately when we received him he had already developed this habit along with others such as throwing our clothes around, eating socks and excess leash pulling... Which stands as a good reminder to breeders when raising puppies to consider the families they are going to live with. Teaching them structure and manners goes a long way. It should be up to the owners what they allow their dogs to do in their homes.

All my dogs are allowed on the couch but they are only allowed up with us when invited, and only when a blanket is provided to protect our leather furniture...

As we've never allowed dogs on our bed having owned mostly double coated breeds - having hair in our bed wasn't ideal with a husband who suffered from allergies.

Allowing any dog on our bed without an invite was not something we wanted and it should have been our choice.

You can clearly see how happy he is and at this point in time I'm not going to fight it anymore. Being hairless is probably his only saving Grace LOL

Regardless, this is a good reminder as a breeder to ensure that your puppies are raised properly if they are being placed with new owners. That's my vent for today... I truly love this boy and his hairless American Terrier brother flasher and they are the first two dogs ever permitted to be on our bed.

That should tell you something LOL

We are THRILLED to announce that our boy TonKa who now resides in New Mexico with his wonderful owners "Elena & Rick McClean" achieved his American Championship this weekend!!! TonKa made his American debut and completed his championship requirements in only 2 shows!!!

TonKa was surrounded by some outstanding chows! Special thanks to the judges for recognizing this stunning boy!!! Owner / Handled - Elena McClean and TonKa swept their way into the hearts of the judges!!!

I couldn't find Streaker... This is where he hides lol

Funny thing is we have an extension on our king bed... 16 inches added out so the dog beds fit and they have a space to sleep without hogging the bed.

This dog cracks me up!!!
