Range Road Retriever

It’s starting to look like the Ruddy fan club over here. Just a reminder from Echo that she’s a good girl too. 😂

In all seriousness, this girl has come a long way! She kind of got left to the end for most of the year training wise, but I am extremely happy with where we are right now and I’m very excited to actually get to do more with her over the next year 🤎

Thanks Rowen / Malone / Jaysen for taking over the camera for me!

I hate to admit it… but the toller is actually pretty cool in the field too

There is nothing cooler than watching a dog problem solve all on their own!

Ruddy has seen a couple big birds in her life, but this was her first Canada Goose! Like she has multiple times with bigger ducks, she’s figured out how best to carry something almost half her size!

Every time I see this little red dog rock a retrieve I remember one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard… a man talking about regretting getting a female lab because she was just too small and weak to get geese… it’s not the size of the dog, it’s the size of their heart, and this toller has a a lot of heart ♥️

Retrievers = happiness. It’s as simple as that 🤷‍♀️

This morning was one for the books. Our first hunt of the season and we had geese landing all around us but just out of range. Finally a couple of flocks came in just before the storm and gave up a couple great shots! It also happened to be the first time I (Em) shot a goose as I’ve been running dogs/cameras for the last 5 years. We had to pack up quite quickly to beat some wicked thunderstorms, and as we were doing so, we got the devastating news that a great friend had passed suddenly the night before. I can only imagine she may have saw our effort and that we brought the lab out today and sent us some extra luck. Our hearts are both full and broken today. Bea, you’ll be forever in our hearts. I was so excited for the future plans we had together. Whatever comes next, we know we’ll have your love for life guiding us 💕

When you show up at buddy’s place just to find out no one else took the season opener off 😭
