Which Practices Pay? Calf Attributes Associated with Online Selling Price
This webinar will feature recent Canadian sales data from the TEAM online auction platform, analyzed by Kathy Larson, economist at the University of Saskatchewan.
Description: The cow-calf enterprise generates approximately 85% of its revenues through the sale of weaned calves. While auction market data show that steers often bring higher prices per pound than heifers, and that price per pound generally decreases as weight increases, many producers want to know: What management practices and calf attributes are associated with higher selling prices? Using recent Canadian TEAM sales data, Kathy Larson will explore which practices — such as implanting, vaccination, age verification — are associated with higher prices.
