Welcome to Riverwood Ranch
We are a third generation heritage ranch located on the slopes of the Pembina River just north of Evansburg Alberta. Riverwood provides horse training services, riding lessons, boarding, guided trail rides and cattle drives and is home to the Canadian Cowboy Challenge Obstacle course. With over 1000 head of cattle and 3000 acres there is something for everyone at Riverwood Ranch. We are also happy to announce that we have built a brand new 80x200 indoor riding arena and community Center so that we can ride all year round! With a variety of trails to pick from, Riverwood is an exciting destination for both the beginner and experienced rider. Bring your own horses, or rent one of ours for a variety of events. Options include home cooked meals and accommodations to experience our county lifestyle. Beautiful landscapes, friendly horses and a welcoming staff are waiting for you. As promised, here’s the Day 2 recap from our summer Grand Gallopers Horse Camp!

Somehow, Day 2 was even better than Day 1.

Looking back at this camp makes me realize all over again just how much I love horse camp. It was one of my absolute favourite things as a kid, and now getting to give our students that same experience — the horses, the friendships, the adventures, the laughs, and the memories — might be even better.

There’s just something pretty special about horse camp, no matter how old you are. Long live horse camp!

As everyone settles back into school, we realized we never shared the videos from our Grand Gallopers Overnight Horse Camp!

This camp was easily one of our favourites yet. Two jam-packed days of horses, learning, games, challenges, laughs, and some pretty great memories with an awesome group of kids.

Day Two and somehow it just keeps getting better!

The horsemanship stepped up, the confidence grew, and we got OUTSIDE! We spent the day putting our skills to work with drills, challenges, and plenty of time in the saddle.

There’s something pretty awesome about watching everything start to click — better communication, better feel, and better partnerships between horse and rider.

Day Two was a GOOD one. Can’t wait to see how we finish this clinic off!
