Joyful Tails Doggy Daycare
Our daycare is carefully curated so dogs are properly supervised, supported, and socialized at their own pace.

A typical day includes:
• Yard play + potty breaks
• Indoor enrichment games
• Structured chill time
• Occasional treats (yes, pup cups!)

We also specialize in helping skittish and timid dogs build confidence in a calm environment that doesn’t overwhelm them.

DM us for more information or to see if your pup is a good fit.

Meet Kira
Kira is a confident, active, and happy 8-month-old mixed breed (German Shepherd × Mastiff × Collie) who has truly blossomed since coming into care. Once shy, she has grown into a playful young dog who enjoys engaging with her environment and interacting with others.

She plays well with other dogs, confidently initiates play, and is very food-motivated — which makes her a joy to work with and great for continued training. Kira is also friendly with cats and has shown appropriate curiosity and calm behaviour around them.

Kira would do best in an active home that can continue to provide structure, enrichment, and positive outlets for her energy. She’s still young, eager to learn, and ready to build a strong bond with her forever family. DM us if you are interested in providing her a forever home.

Maya, a 4month old pup — gentle, sweet, and a little shy.

Today was her very first daycare visit. She came in a bit nervous, but with a calm, supervised setup (and no overwhelming crowd), she had the perfect start to socializing.

Big shoutout to Mayzee for being the best welcome buddy — patiently showing Maya how to play, helping her feel safe, and slowly bringing her out of her shell. 🐾

STARTLE ➜ REACTIVITY

Why “reactive” dogs often aren’t “bad” dogs (and what to do instead)

A startle (sudden noise / touch / movement) can flip a dog into survival mode:
• body tenses • heart races • thinking shuts down
➡️ React first, think later

When startles happen often, dogs start learning:
“The world isn’t safe.”
So reactions get bigger: barking, lunging, growling, freezing.

What helps: calm + predictable routines + gentle handling.
Safety builds trust. Trust changes behaviour.
