🌟Pet of week Romee 🌟

Our pet of the week is brought to you by Dawn (RVT)

Romee has been a patient here since she was a puppy. Last year she was in for a dental procedure, her owners had reported a terrible smell coming from her mouth. Turns out she had a stick stuck in her mouth, between two teeth that caused a major infection. We had to remove two large teeth, and the infection caused her to loose a significant portion of her hard palate. It was a long recovery for this sweet girl, but we’re happy to report she is doing well now. Just in to see us for a simple a**l gland expression this week.

Our 2nd newest grad is Ally! She is demonstrating a jugular blood collection and a retrobulbar block - meant to provide local freezing to the area for a surgery like an eye enucleation (surgical removal of the eye).

“Hey there! If you haven’t met me yet, my name is Allison and I’ve been at WVH since 2022. I graduated from the Lakeland College Blended Veterinary Technology program in 2025 and started my official journey as an RVT! I love so many aspects of being a vet tech, but my main interests are ophthalmology and canine medicine/behaviour. If I’m not in the clinic, I’m playing Australian football, playing basketball, traveling, or going to the thrift store!”

Our 2026 grad Gillian! She has been at Windermere Vet for 9 years as a receptionist/tech assistant and has finally joined the tech team ♥️

“I graduated from NAITs Veterinary Technology program this past summer, but I’ve been apart of the veterinary field and the Windermere family since 2017.
My favourite aspects of my job are anesthesia, feline medicine, and clinical pathology. I do also have a special interest in both emergency and exotic medicine, from my background working in ER and wildlife rehab.
Outside of work, I like to play badminton, hike, and curl up with my kitties.”
