Does anyone know who this cat is or where he/she belongs? Found in NE Edmonton in Beverly Heights area. Showed up in my house two days ago and doesn’t want to leave lol Please PM me if you think this is your cat!!! proof of ownership will be required before releasing back home for cat’s safety. Cross posted to other lost and found groups.

Details: This cat is quite large, and was definitely someone’s in recent history and definitely not just a random stray- scared and nervous in new situations, but definitely comfortable around people and somewhat OK around other cats (not aggressive and gives head buts and allows petting occasionally). Has what looks like a long term collar mark almost fully regrown around the neck (unclear if from normal mane or collar). Haven’t been able to check gender for sure (very fluffy and still nervous here). Have tried releasing so he makes his way back home, but he just comes back. Was VERY hungry on arrival so it seems like he’s lost from somewhere.

Japanese scientist Dr. Toru Miyazaki has developed a groundbreaking injectable treatment that could nearly double the average cat’s lifespan — from around 15 years to almost 30 years.

The therapy targets chronic kidney disease, the leading cause of death in cats, by delivering an activated form of a protein called AIM directly to the kidneys. This restores their natural waste-clearing function that cats are genetically unable to activate on their own.

Trials have shown remarkable results, with cats suffering from advanced kidney disease recovering after treatment. It works both as prevention and therapy.

Commercialization is expected to begin in Japan in 2025, with wider global availability by 2027. Researchers also believe this discovery could have important implications for human medicine.
