The Dandies are Coming! The Dandies are Coming!
June 6, 2026 has been declared World Dandie Dinmont Terrier Day.
Imagine almost the entire population of a single dog breed getting together!
With less than 250 puppies born annually world wide, concerns about the future of the lovable, ancient, endangered Dandie Dinmont Terrier are shared by all who cherish them. We had to do something!
To raise public awareness of the breed’s plight, gatherings of Dandie Dinmonts in various locations all over the world will simultaneously get together on the exact same day and hour (in their regional time zones).
World Dandie Dinmont Terrier Day is basically a call to arms, a symbol that Dandie people care, and want the breed to prevail.
Dandie lovers are planning events in 20 nations beginning in Australia, westward across Asia and Europe, throughout England, Scotland and Ireland, and across the ocean to the United States and Canada ending up at the Pacific coast. A whirlwind tour of the world of Dandies.
We expect 90% of the world’s Dandie population to participate on June 6th! What other breed of dog can inspire such devotion and passion?
Think of it!!! A one-day event, in every nation that has a population of Dandie Dinmont Terriers, gathering at the same time; 2 p.m. local time, connecting with the public in busy bustling areas to introduce them to them to this gentle loyal family companion. Each country’s team leaders will organize the events and locations.
You can see it all, the entire day of gatherings on a dedicated page, (20+) Facebook and learn more about the breed from the World Dandie Dinmont Terrier Day website.

This week we’re celebrating the heart of every veterinary clinic — our incredible veterinary receptionists 🐾💙
A special shoutout to Jodi, Karen, Taylor, Trinity, Lisa Marie, and Bettina — your dedication, compassion, and hard work make a difference every single day.
You’re the first voice clients hear in moments of worry and the warm smile that welcomes them through the door. You juggle ringing phones, busy schedules, emotional situations, and endless questions — all while showing patience and care.
Thank you for being the calm in the chaos, the comfort during difficult days, and the connection between pets, their families, and the care they need.
Your kindness does not go unnoticed. Your impact is truly immeasurable.

A special shoutout to our fantastic reception assistant, Kelly!

Happy Veterinary Receptionist week! 🐶🐱

The government has made an emergency drug release for Strychnine. Strychnine is a highly toxic poison sometimes found in rodent baits and can be deadly to dogs, cats, and wildlife if ingested—even in very small amounts.
🚨 Signs of Strychnine Poisoning:
Severe muscle stiffness or rigidity
Uncontrollable seizures (often triggered by sound or touch)
Difficulty breathing
Hyper-sensitivity (startles easily)
Rigid limbs, arched back (“sawhorse stance”)
Rapid deterioration—this is a medical emergency
⏱️ Symptoms can appear quickly, often within 10 minutes to 2 hours after ingestion.
❗ What To Do Immediately:
DO NOT wait for symptoms to worsen
DO NOT try to induce vomiting (this can trigger severe seizures)
Keep your pet in a quiet, dark environment to reduce stimulation
Seek emergency veterinary care immediately
💡 Prevention Tips:
Avoid areas where rodent poison may be present
Keep pets on a leash during walks
Secure all pest control products safely out of reach
Be cautious in rural or unfamiliar areas
Strychnine poisoning progresses rapidly and can be fatal without urgent treatment. Quick action can save your pet’s life.
📞 If you suspect poisoning, contact your veterinary clinic or nearest emergency clinic as soon as possible.

This adorable little lady, Chloe, is sitting pretty in recovery after her patella surgery today.

Patella surgery is for when your pet’s knee cap (patella) pops out causing pain and we correct it by making sure the patella moves in the joint properly.

We wish Chloe a speedy recovery!
