Today I had the pleasure of meeting a new horse...1500lb Percheron cross...16yrs. This horse came from a bad situation but was adopted by a fantastic family!!. He definitely has nothing to worry about ever again.

The hooves were terribly overgrown...broken out with cracks. Each hoof took about three nipper runs to get rid of the excess hoof growth.

Overall the hooves are in good shape. With some weight maintenance, exercise and scheduled trims this horse will definitely be a show stopper.

Mission Accomplished!!!

With the incredible generosity of my wonderful customers and friends, we were able to provide a massive donation to the Veterans Association Food Bank.

The non perishable items collected filled the bed of my truck and the entire back seating area. Still required more room so the family vehicle was utilized also filling the back seat.

Food and a cheque for $400.00 was delivered today.

I truly am so lucky to have such wonderful and caring clients. I wish you and your families nothing but the best and looking forward to seeing you all in 2021.

Morning...if you live in Sturgeon County...in the area of Rge Rd 261 at Twp 564 there is a horse with a blanket running loose. Horse looks like a paint? Has a light gray/blue blanket on and tail is braided. I cannot catch it or get near it. Please share or notify owner. Thanks

Answer to Mystery Monday - The average horse heart is 7 to 10 lbs. This heart is from a 1,000 lb. horse, which would be close to the size and weight of an average horse. The hand helps illustrate the size of the heart. There have been several record numbers for larger than average horse heart size. Secretariat (the famous racehorse) was recorded to have had a heart that weighed 21 lbs, almost 3X the size of an average horse heart.

This year Morrison Farrier Service will be collecting non perishable food items for the newly opened, Veterans Association Food Bank located in Edmonton.

The Veterans Association Food Bank provide a "stable environment for Veterans affected by loneliness, isolation, addiction, mental health or other health related issues"

As a very proud Veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces I wish to do my part in helping this organization help. I am hoping the customers and friends of Morrison Farrier Service can assist.

Starting the week of October 26 to December 18 my goal is too fill the back of my Farrier truck with non perishable food items. I would truly appreciate any donation that you and your family would like to contribute to a Veteran in need.
