👑 Venus is my magnificent girl. While each of our furbabies is special in their own way—with their own personality and place in our hearts—Venus has a way of standing out just a little extra.
Now retired from our program, she spends her days happily “chatting” away, asking endless questions as I move about the house. She’s my little shadow—curious, expressive, and always involved. When I step outside (and she can’t follow, as all my cats are strictly indoor), she keeps tabs on me the only way she can—trotting from window to window, and then out into her catio, making sure I remain within sight as I go about chores or check on the cows.
Our girls have 24/7 access to a large catio—an enclosed outdoor space that lets them safely enjoy fresh air, sunshine, and all the sights and sounds of nature. Living on a peaceful acreage does come with its realities, and with predators nearby, safety is never something we take lightly. Our livestock guardian dogs do an incredible job patrolling the property, but when it comes to our Maine C***s, their safety is simply non-negotiable.
We’ve put a lot of thought and care into creating a space that is safe, enriching, and joyful—this is actually the third (and biggest!) catio we’ve built so far. Watching them lounge, explore, and take in the outdoors from the safety of their enclosure is something we truly love.
Because of this, it’s very important to us that all of our cats and kittens remain indoor-only in their new homes as well. Outdoor time is absolutely wonderful—but only when proper safety measures are in place, such as a secure catio, a safely enclosed yard, or supervised time on a harness. It’s a simple step that ensures they live long, happy, and protected lives.
Venus would love nothing more than a home where she can stay close to her people, keep up her sweet little conversations, and enjoy the world safely by your side.
