After Bo***ir by Karina - Beauty and Empowerment Photography Karina Gramiak lied to me several times about giving me a refund for what I feel were terrible photos not showing our faces or even including the subject matter I asked. She scammed me out of $300.
Please be careful when hiring a photographer I failed to do the research as I was just excited to have photos of my son and I. She describes herself as an ex drug addict online which is a bit concerning but she also confessed she has only a high school diploma and hasn’t been in business for long enough I feel to be considered a professional. While those things in itself would not be red flags that information along with her behaviour towards me has been extremely concerning.
Had I looked more thoroughly at her photographs I would have been able to see that she doesn’t have a professional level of skill and doesn’t know how to use angles or lighting in her photos. These were just a few red flags but her calling me multiple times from blocked numbers screaming and swearing then crying and apologizing at me takes the cake on her unhinged behaviour.
When she asked me to meet her at the police station after several times being caught in a lie about offering me a refund after she had admitted it was not her best work she then stood me up. I waited half an hour for her to give me the refund she promised only for her to not show. Since then I’ve heard from multiple people including some officials that they have had run ins with her and that her morals/behaviour are questionable at best. It looks like she’s also tried to start a cake baking side business as well so beware of that also.
So in an effort to turn this experience into something positive I have 2 wonderful photographers to recommend to you all who had reached out to me after this stressful ordeal to offer me free photographs of me and my son to make up for the terrible experience I had with Karina. They don’t know me. They had no obligation to do so. But they did anyways. I am so impressed with these two.
These women didn’t have to offer me anything and I just want to express how amazed I am at some people’s kindness. I was not able to hire them as I was hoping to do so with my refund money from Karina Karina Gramiak at wild rose studios Wildrosestudios. Since I never got that refund as she promised I did not want to take advantage of these photographers by taking their free offers of services. However, I do want to promote two female photographers in Slave Lake who both were kind and generous to me in a time of need.
I try to support people and businesses that are small and especially ones who have shown great morals and character. I have their information below including links etc so you can see their work.

The second is Sarah Hudson at Sarah Hudson Fine Art & Photography. She does art work as well as photography in Slave Lake.

The kindness you both have showed me really has been so refreshing. I wish the both of you the best in your businesses. You both are incredible humans.
I hope you all have a better experience finding a photographer in Slave Lake than I did.
And Karina I hope you haven’t spent that money yet. You’re 14 days are almost up. I hope you’re able to do the right thing and refund me that money. Scamming people is no way to build a reputation in a small town or to make a living. There are consequences for treating people this way.
