Superficial flexor tendon is between the deep digital flexor tendon and the skin/epidermis/dermis. Suspensory ligament where he points next to the DDFT. 👍 good points on laminitis!

Even if one works with a vet that’s exceptional in Farriery/studies hoofcare science, STILL PEOPLE WILL not trust you nor think you’re good enough and will always refer to the bigger person than you are. There’s always a critique Karen or Ken, that makes you look down and make up doubt like you belong to the bottomless pit. There’s a reason why I believe in certain spies such as composite. I don’t really care who backlash me since we live in a corrupt fallen system kind of society in this world. It’s understandable. Peace 🙏

Very important info about hoof-care on a short schedule such as a foundered horses, flat footed horses, different loads on each foot and how it all works together with a purpose.

It’s hard to have a maintained, sound and good healthy feet for horses if it’s not short enough for what the horse truly needs.
An eighth of an inch is still enough to cause an imbalance increasing distortion overtime sn*******ng. Farrier works purpose is to serve preventative measures before it gets worse. It’s not about changing the bone structure and make a whole new hoof.
It looks simple and may look like there isn’t much to take off, it may look like the farrier isn’t doing much and is done quick, but a small percentage of doing preventative measures can help the horse be consistently sound. Also, it’s rarely do people pick up the foot, assess the sole accurately with good enough knowledge to know what to look for. if one doesn’t know, then get your farrier to educate you, this is not a demeaning message but one that highlights the facts about true hoof-care when working as a good team for the horse.

If your farrier keeps a strict schedule or asks to shorten your horse's cycle....its not a control thing, its not a money grab...they have the best interest of your horse in mind!

For every 1 cm of excess toe length, the soft tissues—specifically the deep digital flexor tendon, the superficial digital flexor tendon, and the suspensory ligaments—have to take on an additional 110 lbs of tension. If the soft tissues are already compromised by injury, conformational flaws, strain from work load etc the effects of "being long" could be severe.

Pictured below is the growth from just a 4 week trim on my personal horse!🤯 Seasonal change, weather, exercise etc can have a significant impact on their growth....clearly seen here.
