This sound, this little sound right here, is what keeps me going when I am tired, when it's the middle of the night, when the work never seems to end. These little sounds, coming from the brooders or the nest boxes. The sounds of a little baby, hungry and asking me for some food.

When they are hungry, or anytime there is food around, these little...

UPDATE ON AVAILABLE BIRDS - and having wildflowers for wild birds, not too late to plant your own field!

First, the available handfed babies that are eager for their new homes!

-1 conure is still available, a very active yellow sided green cheek conure, the last of the batch!

-Cockatiels, all colors, males and females, wonderfully friendly and active. A pair of female lutinos are among the friendliest and most eager for contact that I have ever had. Pearls and cinnamon pearls, feisty standard greys and more.

-Lovebirds, an extremely eager for contact male peach fronted and a pretty little black mask

-You can see how these birds interact with me in the last couple of long form videos on my youtube channel, and linked here in facebook in recent posts.

And as for the wildflowers! This is the field that I planted early last year, coming back for me all by itself. A plain grass lawn does little to help out the wild birds in your area, all it really does is look nice until the summer heat hits, then is a dusty brown patch that does nothing. Wildflowers benefit local birds and insect populations year round, and can take very little to no water to keep looking great! They are a great home to beneficial insects and an important food source for birds, especially during migration. The seeds provide year round foraging, helping birdies out in winter. They are also great places for baby birds to hide from predators, and offer concealment and rest for adults.

There are many different wildflower mixes that can be planted. Perennials, annuals, hummingbird blends, deer resistant blends, drought resistant blends, even ones that stay short and can take some foot traffic, replacing traditional lawns. They are all great for helping out local bird and bee populations. There are so many bees in my little wildflower patch that you can hear them from inside the house!

It's never too late to plant them either, I am still clearing areas and putting down seeds, and those planted last week have already starting coming up! Last year I had flowers all the way until first frost, and this year the first flowers started showing the first week of April.

Cockatiel wait list has been cleared! Handfed cockatiel babies in many wonderful colors now available. You can see pictures of each individual baby available from the link in one of the top pinned post, or in their own album in the photo section. Anyone interested in bringing one of these babies home just send me a message to get the process started.

You can also see these babies in this new COCKATIEL COMPANIONSHIP VIDEO. A great way to help a new baby transition in their new home, the various sounds of the nursery here can help with homesickness, and make the baby feel more secure in their new home. And seeing all their old friends can help with loneliness if their new people are not around .It is also a great insight on the behaviors of these personable birds, their noise and activity levels. Watch them go through several eat, play and rest cycles.

A great way to keep your cockatiels calm and happy, watching these babies go through several distinct eat, play and sleep cycles. Happy and calm cockatiel ba...

Cages Now Available - New in Box or Assembled

Yes, the shipment of new cages has finally come in, and are available now. These value cages are going quickly, but there are two more shipments coming in soon, so should have these in stock year round from now on. Message me for pricing.

Cage measurements are...

30 inches wide, side to side
20 inches deep, front to back
52 inches high, total height with stand

Suitably sized cages can be hard to find, as most pet stores only stock smaller sized cheap cages meant for budgies or canaries. Even then, most cages found in stores are too small to keep any birds happy and healthy.

These are decent quality cages, at a value price. Brand new cages, they can be picked up either still in the box for easy transport, or fully assembled.

Frame and panel design, they are sturdy enough to last for years yet easy to move around, especially with the four rolling casters. A basic latch on both large doors keeps birds secure inside and provides easy access. Half inch bar spacing suitable for all small and medium sized birds from budgies to cockatiels, conures and ringnecks.

These are not perfect cages, being a little on the light duty side, and a little short, but for the money just can't be beat.

I also have available and in stock the 4 most important items for a cage, those being.....

1- Stainless steel bowls with holding rings, necessary because cheap plastic cannot be properly cleaned and harbors bacteria.

2. Rope perches - a comfortable and secure perch, easier on birds feet and provides a good grip. All cages should have a variety of perches for foot health.

3. Pedi-perches - Important for every cage, using these I never have to trim my birds nails or beaks. A sturdy concrete perch that will outlast the next ice age.

4. LED lighting bar - A good and affordable light to brighten up any bird's cage. Control it with the switch or a simple timer or smart plug, and give your birds a regular day cycle routine, and even seasons! Cables are zip tied out of reach from inside the cage, but extra protection should be used if your bird turns out to be a wire chewer when they are out of cage. An easy and cheap light source, affordable enough to easily replace if damaged.

Two little out of season handfed baby lovebirds are now fully weaned and ready for their new homes. I will begin contacting those on the lovebird wait list first, then opening them up for anyone interested.

Both likely males, there is a black mask fischer's and a green peach face. Lovebirds really should be kept in pair, they rely very much on their bond to their cage mate, hence their name. A nice discount will apply if taking both birdies, as they are already great friends.

The black mask is a little more independent, as most fischer's are, but the peach face is very assertive in having contact and play with his people. You can see them in several videos on my youtube channel, especially my latest long form instructional video all about parrot diet.

The next batch of conures are now fully weaned and ready for their new homes! DNA testing has been done. I will begin by contacting those on the wait list first, then opening it up for anyone who is interested. Let me know if you would like to be added to the notification list.

Four babies in total, two pineapple, a yellowsided and a crimson bellied. Wonderful colors on all babies in this batch, they come from 4 different parent pairs, all out of season babies.

Yes, the next batch of cockatiels is now available, including some wonderful whiteface colors! They will be available for picking starting Saturday!

All birds have been DNA tested. There are also two lutino females and a grey female from the last batch. The two lutino's are among the friendliest birds I have ever raised here, and having a few extra weeks here with me and the extra training has really brought out their eagerness to interact with people. The female grey has also benefited from the extra time here, and is a very calm and self assured birdie that enjoys companionship. These cockatiels from the last batch now have a reduced price.

I will begin contacting people on the wait list for the newest cockatiel babies available, and then opening it up for anyone interested. Let me know if anyone would like to be added to the notification list.

Please note, there are no other babies currently in handfeeding, nor any eggs expected to hatch. Some parent pairs will have a new season beginning in 2 weeks and 6 weeks, with the next babies expected 12 weeks after that. These will be the last babies available for a while.

Yup, its smack dab hormonal season again, well into it actually as you can see in this short video. These two are bonded with me, a sun and a quaker, and spend much of the day, usually, on my shoulder and head. Lately though, they have been looking for a little private place to call their own, and being a male and a female, they like a bit of privacy occasionally this time of year.

I know a lot of people out there have birds that get hormonal, especially this time of year. It can happen any time really, and different bird breeds often have different seasonal triggers. I will be making a video pretty soon on how to deal with hormonal birds, and how to prevent them from becoming hormonal in the first place.

I will only be leaving this post, and the link to the video, up for a couple of days, then taking it down to avoid clutter. But you can see all my videos, long form and short, on my youtube channel. Check it out, be entertained, learn something new maybe, and sprinkle around some likes to massage the algorithm.

I am trying to get my education videos out there to as many people as possible, clawing back a little bit at a time against the flood of AI slop, clickbait and misinformation. And if you haven't already done so, subscribe to get all the cute birdie videos like this one as soon as they are posted! I am between seasons right now with the birds, and have been uploading more and will continue to do so for the next few weeks until the brooders fill up once again!

These two have been bonded together, living together with me for 10...

Latest long form instructional video is now out, all about birdie diet. What and how to feed our birds for a long, happy and healthy life! Lots of pictures and examples, and a bunch of friends help me out!

It will take me a few more days to get the full transcript written up. I will be posting it on my website when done, and posting a link to it here. Depending on how formatting works, I might be posting it here as well and adding it to the collection of bird care topics.

I tried to condense everything as much as possible, not going into too much technical detail. If people are interested, I could do a write up that includes everything. It would be the length of a booklet instead of just an essay, so no video for that.

Our parrots diet is one of the most important factors in their health and happiness. In this Video I will be going over the what and how I feed all the birds...
