I wasn't going to post anything about the situation but, it's coming to that time where maybe I should come forward:
..

So I have eggs, not from any official breeding program I have active at the aviary. These eggs are coming from a Colony Flock consisting of budgies I have that are fosters, retiree's, and some adults. Males and Females.

*** I am not Colony Breeding, the enclosure these budgies are in is the Adopts Cage. This is for clients visiting the aviary for adoptions can do viewings. That's it. What the budgies do is what they do. I'm only guilty in having this set-up in the first place. ***

Now... Its the adults that are breeding. Specifically *one* hen: Keylime Pie, one of my own budgies who I'm trying to find her forever home for. She's being a slt and getting Hanky-Panky with any male she deems worthy. Right now it's a Foster Male I named Bluey, however she did allow two other males to pair with her: Monkey-Do and Halloween.
Monkey-Do was a disabled; hence no mating abilities, had since been adopted (So he's not one of the baby daddies), and Halloween is a 4 year old flirt but frankly would rather be gay than straight if he can help it. Leaving only Bluey as the potential breeding male.

> Kinda defeats the purpose of the "Mystery Eggs" but for all I know Bluey may just hold Alpha status with Keylime but then Keylime is giving her cloaca to any male she doesn't try and snap at.

Normally I would toss out the eggs, but when the 1st egg was laid I didn't know who laid it, so I was kinda... skeptical? Curiouse? Maybe a bit cheeky in thinking nothing would happened. And I placed it under a breeding pair for the fun of it just to see if it would be fertile. Low and behold 3 days later it's confirmed fertilized and every egg has since been Keylime's, and most likely Bluey as the baby daddy to all eggs.

I don't believe in the avian-equivalent of abortions, I just find it cruel.
Unless it's a D.I.E(Dead In Egg) case, or the egg isn't fertile. I don't toss out eggs willy-nilly if there is healthy development.

The whole purpose of the Mystery Eggs this year is just so if there are any clients of mine who want to adopt from me and just, don't care about colours. Then this is probably the one time a year where I would allow this to happen. I'll look more into the temperaments, and I will work with these future babies to become adoptable companions.

> These budgies won't be banded, they're not from official programs and won't be held back for any reason. They're still protected under my policies and if anything were to happen they would have a home with me, regardless.

> I would love to hand-feed the clutch but I work two jobs now, so these will be "parent"-raised, I will put them in a Taming and Training Program at 6 weeks of age and try to make them as tamed as possible.
..

So, yeah. If you're interested in a adoptable fledgling in the future, 8 eggs > No guarantee of a 100% success rate as anything can happen in the future, mortality rates are fickle even with the best of care. But there should be a decent success rate: 50% - 80%+

Then message me and I will get you on my Waitlist. Adoptable availability will all be in July thanks to my 12-Week Policy

You can't see it too well because my camera sucks.

But my little Ino girl is dyed pink. Not by choice— she must have rolled on the mineral block I had in this cage.

So uh, closest thing to having a "pink" budgie.

No way—
ARE. YOU. KIDDING ME???

Ok— so a bit of a explanation.

Ever since the aviary became active and I got all my budgies moved in, things have been fine. No mishaps or such. Until for some reason, Opalescence has been caught outside of the Fledgling Cage for about... a few weeks now. Every time I catch her either flying around in the aviary, or the 2 times she got caught in the vents... dont worry. The grates over the vent acts as a very secure cage on the outside. No one escapes.
I thought nothing of it, with how the cage was designed, a budgie could easily slip on by when the cage was open. But I was always extremely careful and counted who was suppose to be there (the current number is 10), and I know for a fact a majority of the time Opalescence was accounted for.

She has been completely fine BTW, like she is never seen hurt, starving, or dehydrated. She is an ass, however—
..

Tonight was the night I caught her in one of her daring escapes as I went to collect some budgies for a client tonight. And I found her crime scene.

Good to know the grate sucks! Two of the bars were broken and she was able to slip into the tray and exit through the gaps. I have since secured those broken bars and will replace the grate with another grate, or a solid piece of wood of the exact measurements.

Also, also..... I think I accidentally bred a budgie with brains. None of her other siblings or fledge-mates have attempted escapes, just her. So um....... idk. I bred the new "Brain" from Pinky and the Brain.
