Who remembers this show??

He had no home and no owner. Yet he changed lives wherever he went.

The Littlest Hobo premiered on this day 47 years ago. It followed a wandering German Shepherd who drifted from town to town, helped people in trouble, then moved on. The 1979 series was a Canadian revival of an earlier show, based on an American film.

It premiered on CTV on 11 October 1979. It ran for six seasons and 114 episodes, finishing in March 1985.

The dogs were owned and trained by Charles "Chuck" Eisenmann, a former professional baseball player. He also appeared on screen as a dog trainer in the first season.

Some famous faces turned up as guest stars. Mike Myers and Megan Follows appeared early in their careers. Vic Morrow and Abe Vigoda also guested.

The theme song, Maybe Tomorrow, was sung by Terry Bush, with lyrics by John Crossen. It opened and closed every episode.
