Pea dust…

No, it’s not some strange medical emergency caused by
dehydration. It’s just one of the unfortunate side effects of growing peas.

It’s black, slightly sticky and somehow capable of getting absolutely everywhere during pea harvest....on the combine, in the cab, in your clothes, up your nose and into places that really shouldn’t be physically possible.

Peas may look clean and innocent standing in the field, but once the combine starts rolling, they reveal their dirty little secret.

It isn’t glamorous, but it’s all part of turning a field of peas into a valuable crop, and eventually into a nutritious ingredient in many of our Guldberg Farms feeds.

For now, though, everything is simply covered in pea dust.

Harvest 2026 is officially underway at Guldberg Farms!

After months of waiting, worrying about the weather, and watching the crops grow, the combine is finally rolling.
There’s a long way to go before the bins are full, but there’s always something pretty special about that first crop coming off the field.
Here’s to a safe harvest, good weather, full bins, and another crop making its way from our fields to your feed bags!

The sunflower blooms are beginning to taper off, and the first signs of fall’s all-too-soon arrival are starting to show.

But what a crop! Big sunflowers as far as the eye can see!

There is still a long way to go before they are ready to harvest. Hopefully Mother Nature is kind to us this fall, and we can get them safely combined, cleaned and into a bag near you!

With Harvest quickly approaching, we wanted to post our next feed meet up for Strathmore/Calgary/Diamond Valley/High River!
We are heading your way Saturday, August 29th and can bring feed with us if you need any and the time and location works for you. Our next meet up is planned for mid September depending on how harvest is going. Please note that we usually fill up to max weight capacity before the meet up date so get your order in early so we don't miss you.
