Looking for a fun way to celebrate Father's Day? Bring Dad, bring your dogs, and bring your appetite!

Join us for a family-friendly BBQ fundraiser and open house in support of the Drumheller & District Humane Society. Enjoy a delicious burger by donation, with options for both humans and pups! We'll have regular burgers for people and unseasoned burger patties available for our four-legged guests.

Come meet our adoptable cats and kittens! Kitten season is in full swing, and we'll have a ton of adorable kittens looking for loving homes.

Sending a big thank you to everybody who attended Pascal’s party yesterday!! we had so much fun wearing our party hats and eating cupcakes, and of course, spoiling Pascal.

We filled a basket with donated toys and treats for him, including a kind gift from Mitch Sun City Liquidations & Auctions - Drumheller

Welcome Wednesday - Henna 👋

Henna is a 6 year old bully mix. She falls in the "brick house" sized dog category. Henna has lived with cats and is housetrained. Henna has a chicken allergy, she's vaccinated, spayed, dewormed and microchipped.

Since her arrival, Henna has been ecstatic to meet all the new people. This compact bullet has no concept of personal space. She simply enjoys being in your space. Henna does have a tendency to pull on her leash and may require some training on that front. Henna does have some skills like sit and shake.

World Pet Memorial Day 🕯️

Today we remember the pets who are no longer with us.

Grieving the loss of a pet is a powerful and valid experience. For many, our pets are family, and when they’re gone, the absence is profound.

If you’re remembering a beloved pet today, we invite you to share their photo or story in the comments. Tell us their name. Tell us what made them special. We’d be honoured to remember them with you.

Supporting someone who’s grieving a pet? Here are a few caring ways to help:

Acknowledge their grief. Say their pet’s name. Let them talk about them.
Offer practical support. Grief can make the everyday hard. Bring a meal, run an errand, or simply check in.
Avoid minimising. “It was just a dog/cat” can be deeply hurtful. Instead try, “I know how much they meant to you”
Listen. Sometimes the best support is quiet presence.

Today, we remember the pets who’ve crossed the Rainbow Bridge, and the love they left behind.

Move out Monday - Moka and Tallulah! 🎉

Mokas new adopters met her at the Western Financial barbecue, and fell in love with her.
They had to make sure that she would be a good fit with their existing dog, who conveniently it looks very similar!
Everyone had a very successful meeting at the shelter, and mocha is fitting in with her new family members like a missing puzzle piece!

Tallulah's new family found themselves without a dog for the first time in a long while. They decided to fill that void by coming and volunteering with the dogs at the Humane society!
Well they initially fell in love with Moka, they realize that Tallulah would be a better fit for their lifestyle and family members.
Tallulah is already making herself at home with her new family!

Congratulations to these two pups and their forever families! We are wishing them many years of happiness together 🧡

🐾 Say Hello Sunday! 🐾

This week, we're introducing Chloe and her six adorable babies! ❤️
🩵 Basalt

While these tiny faces are absolutely irresistible, every year, shelters and rescues become overwhelmed with litters that need care, medical attention, and eventually loving homes.

All six kittens will need to be spayed or neutered before adoption. These surgeries are a significant expense for our shelter, but they're an important part of preventing future litters.

Pet of the Week: Pascal 🌟

235 days.

That's how long Pascal has been waiting for someone to see what we see every single day: an absolutely incredible cat.

Pascal is one of our longest residents, and honestly, we're running out of ways to explain how perfect he is. He's affectionate, social, playful, and full of personality. Whether he's following you around looking for attention, curling up for cuddles, or showing off his goofy side, Pascal has a way of making everyone who meets him fall in love.

Pascal has spent 235 days watching other cats leave for their forever homes while he patiently waits for his turn. His new start is long overdue.
