Just a couple minutes into this mares first ride outside.

This little mare is fun. I’m no roper so a pool noodle it is. I catch the horses head about as much as I catch what I’m trying to rope so when we had the pool noodles out for the nags and hags ride I figured it would be great roping practice and I wouldn’t made this little filly head shy with my lack of roping skills. Not too much bothers her anymore.

This little mare has come so far in the 3 months since she came to get started. We originally weren’t sure due to an injury over the winter if she would be riding sound but her owner still wanted her worked with. A little bit of wound care and rehab and the wound doesn’t seem to be bothersome at all. I was working my personal mare with the flag as she had never packed and we will be packing at the Canada parade this Wednesday. So I thought why not. Let’s check and see if I missed anything on this mare as she is getting prepared to head home to her mom very soon. This is why I emphasize 3 months for a start in my program. I can take the time and not rush these colts. This mare took a little longer to mentally mature but now because I had the time she is taking everything in stride like she’s done in all before and with confidence. She was a bit of a fireball when she came but I absolutely loved her for it. I knew she would be worth it in the end. And she has beyond proven my expectations of her so far.

Gotta love when last minute you find out you’re packing a flag in the parade. Oops we’ve never packed one guess maybe we should practice once before we are on the pavement.

Looking for horses that are sitting unused and need help finding their partner. I am constantly being asked for horses that are safe and reliable for beginners or those getting back into horses. This has forever been a pet project of mine: helping people and horses find their forever partners. If you have an unused horse that maybe needs some care or a tune-up before finding its partner, I have a limited budget per horse, as they will all be getting full care, assessment, and tune-ups to help find their home. I'm interested in anything from young prospects to old, been-there-done-that horses that need a soft place to land.
