It's almost June which means it's heartworm season.

It's recommended to have your pet on flea and tick prevention all year long, but adding heartworm prevention from June to November is important.

If left untreated, heartworm can become fatal as it damages the heart and other organs as it progresses.

An annual heartworm test is recommended before starting prevention and it tests for an infection from the previous heartworm season.
