This beauty was tooled up 2ish years ago and due to injuries I finally got her finished up recently. I love everything about this bag from the chaps pocket to the boot stitch to the spur incorporated into the tooling in memory of a very special dog.

It turned out stunning and I sure hope she gets used.

I understand that we can’t fully escape A.I. I understand that there is a time and a place for its use (begrudgingly)…..but I will NEVER actively support A.I.

Due to my involvement in creative spaces, the conversation around A.I .has been in the forefront of many days & because of my absolute hatred for capitalism, my respect for fellow creatives, human kind and the environment, it is something that I can NOT, will NOT support if I can avoid it.

I’ve been seeing more & more people using AI to re-touch their product photos, insert AI generated models/backgrounds, generate advertising materials for their business but I will die on this hill. You will NEVER see AI generated images/designs, marketing material or write-ups coming from Twisted Pistol.

I’m not saying this in a “I’m better than you” way, I’m saying this in a “this is one small way I can help fight capitalism and protect our environment” way. I won’t willingly do anything that is going to encourage the placement of data centres that take up valuable farmland & freshwater resources, don’t generate any new jobs & are negatively impactful on the environment.

Recently I’ve been seeing a number of makers asking in groups about people’s thoughts on A.I. & the responses have ranged quite a bit, some I find to be rather disgusting and disingenuous.

One response was along the lines of “A.I. is getting so good that people can’t really tell, it won’t be long before they can’t at all. Just use it because they won’t know.”

I don’t know about you but that’s giving ‘greasy, dishonest salesperson’ vibes and that’s not how I roll. Personally, I unfollow businesses/makers that have started incorporating A.I into their platforms, I no longer support them and won’t give them the engagement. There are a number of reasons I won’t support A.I due to ethics and I encourage people to research it.
