So, how was Mastergroom Canada in Red Deer?
Many of our clients have been asking about our team’s recent attendance at Mastergroom Canada, in Red Deer, so we wanted to share a bit about our trip.
We attended 3-4 learning workshops each day, and while the days were long, we learned so many time-saving tips to help make our jobs easier on our bodies, improve the efficiency of our processes and to provide even more positive experiences for our fur-clients.
Between seminars, we watched grooming competitions, where groomers from all over the world competed for the “best groom” in various breed categories. The talent in our industry never fails to astonish me.
The Convention Centre was packed with vendors from all over, exhibiting some of the newest technology and products used in the grooming industry and one item, in particular, has been a game changer for us - bathrobes for dogs!
The one thing most dogs have in common, is a complete & utter disdain for the hair dryer. For single & curly coated breeds, the drying process can take between 30-60 minutes. For thick, double-coated breeds, like Leonbergers, Bernese Mountain Dogs, Great Pyrenees and Newfoundlands, the drying process can take upwards of 3-4 hours to thoroughly dry the coat. This can be exhausting, for both the dogs and our staff.
These microfibre bath robes (made by Show Tech) have reduced drying time significantly, with drying time in some cases being reduced by more than half. That time savings is time we can now spend fine tuning our haircuts, and seriously, how cute is a dog in a bathrobe!
This is Daisy, a Newfoundland puppy, rocking one of our new Show Tech robes. After 20 minutes in her robe, we’d estimate at least half of the moisture in her coat had been absorbed by the robe alone, reducing her exposure to the hair dryer.
