Nobody warns you that a seven to nine pound dog can have this much opinion.
Griffons aren't the quiet lap dog people expect when they hear "small breed." They watch everything. They react to everything. If you sneeze funny, they will look at you like you've personally betrayed them.
That's not a flaw. That's the whole point of the breed. They were bred to work in stables catching rats, not to sit pretty in a basket. The attitude came first. The cute face just happened to come with it.
