Out on the trails, trotting behind ponies to catch up cause we're slower than molasses, but we made it ๐Ÿ˜Š
Now an acceptable citizen of the public, Cinch is leaving a different guy.

If you've ridden young, green horses, then you can appreciate how important it is to utilize the hot days. With thunder showers in our area right now, it's been hard to find breaks in the day to work horses.
Cinch is an older guy, used to the changing weather but with baggage. Earning his trust in every step is crucial. Showing him things are ok and that he can work through being uncomfortable.
Baby steps ๐Ÿ™Œ no rushing.

Well, he has been recovering.
After working with Cinch for a few days, I decided to get him checked out for gastric ulcers. We opted to treat him and see how he feels off that.
Alas, treatment is changing him, and he's becoming a much nicer guy.
Ulcers are tricky and painful. Who knows how long hes had them or how bad they were. But since Cinch is an older guy who's likely not had anyone listen to him for a while, I need to rewire his brain to show him things feel better.
These are clips of 3 different times ive saddled him during his treatments. Before treatment, 5 days after first treatment and 16 days into treatment.
I had not been saddling him everyday to get "used to it". He needs each saddling to be fresh and pain free.
We are slowly getting there, and perhaps a rider will be next โ˜บ๏ธ

Cinch is a slow boil kinda guy. We have some things to work out and work on before moving forward with anything else. Doesnt mean there isn't other stuff we can work on tho!

Starting 2026 with this handsome grulla guy CINCH
Hes an older fellow looking to start his career under saddle. He had previously been trained to pull a wagon ๐Ÿ˜Š
So far, we're getting acquainted on where hes comfortable and where hes not.
Cinch is different than what I usually get to work with, and im excited for the adventure.
