Managing Our Fear of Dogs ❤️🐶

Dogs can sense our emotions far more than we realize. When we feel nervous, tense, or fearful around them, they often respond to that energy — sometimes becoming anxious, excited, or unsure themselves. The good news? Confidence can be built on both ends of the leash. 💛

✨ Tips for Managing Fear Around Dogs:

🐾 Learn Dog Body Language
Understanding signals like wagging tails, lip licking, whale eye, tucked tails, and relaxed posture can help take away the “unknown” and make interactions feel safer.

🐾 Start Small
You don’t have to jump into petting every dog you see. Begin by simply observing calm dogs from a distance and slowly build comfort over time.

🐾 Breathe & Relax Your Body
Dogs notice tension. Try lowering your shoulders, unclenching your hands, and taking slow breaths before interacting.

🐾 Avoid Sudden Movements
Quick movements and high-pitched reactions can make dogs more excited or nervous. Calm and predictable movements help everyone feel safer.

🐾 Focus on Neutral Experiences
Not every interaction has to be cuddles and kisses. Quietly existing around a calm dog is still progress. 🐕
