🕊️ Rest Peacefully, Rose 🕊️

Unfortunately, Rose didn’t make it back home today. Her injuries were too extensive, and she had maggots eating her from the inside out. The difficult decision was made to humanely euthanize Rose. Thank you to those who donated to her end-of-life care.

This is the reality for kittens and cats born, or dumped, outside. Please consider TNR, vetting your own pets, encouraging your friends, family, and neighbours to do the same, and confronting people abandoning these innocent beings outdoors. I’m so tired of watching them suffer, and feeling as though their blood is on my hands. Although I know deep down that this goes way beyond me, and more people need to step-up, it’s honestly exhausting.
Rose is no longer suffering; her body and soul are at peace. 🤍

To honour Rose’s memory, our page will remain silent, and I will not respond to messages, for the next 24 hours.

It’s been a busy weekend, with this little nugget evading the traps for what felt like an eternity (it was in fact a day, but midnight me sitting there was stressin’ 😂). A minute after set-up, the little decided today was the day!

Unfortunately, the new kid isn’t in the best shape (peep the photo in the comments of one of the injuries and botfly/cuterebra hole) and will be seeing the vet tomorrow. I would really appreciate some help for this cutie! Donations can be sent to [email protected]; I also accept donations of alcohol empties!

✨ Taking Adoption Applications ✨

Jean-Lou (JL) and Jean-Jacques (JJ) are ready to find their furever people!

They were taken in by a wonderful human and her partner when they learned that they were fending for themselves with no mom in the area.
Jean-Lou and Jean-Jacques are two fun-loving boys ready to settle down. They love to play, and are super sweet (and can we talk about how photogenic these kids are 🥹). The boys are a lovely blend of playful and cuddly, and have good litter habits! A huge thank you to their foster moms for taking such good care of their cute little selves.
Their adoption includes neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations, flea/tick/earmite and deworming treatment.

Send us a message, or email [email protected], for more info on these cutie patooties 💕

✨Taking Adoption Applications ✨

How are these two still available?!

Lilac and Lavender are looking for a home where they can party and cuddle together with their people!

Lilac and Lavender make themselves right at home with everyone! They are super playful, but also know how to nap hard 😂 Beware: Any exposed lap is at risk of being overtaken by their cuteness! They will curl right up, and settle in lol
Lilac and Lavender love other cats, and all sorts of toys, including their tunnel, springs, kicker toys, other soft toys, ball towers — even pens aren’t safe 😂 These two are also very helpful! Whether you’re trying to clean or get some writing done, they are right there with you (some might call it micromanaging, I call it leadership). They also enjoy Cat T.V.

Both Lilac and Lavender are great with dogs and cats, comfortable with kids, and do well for nail trims. They also have good litter habits! Their adoption includes spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, multiple rounds of deworming, flea, tick, and ear mite treatment, and nail trim. Send us a message, or email [email protected], for more info on these cuties!

After a long day, the Knights of Columbus kitten has been secured. If you know a rescue is trapping in the area, please leave them to do their work, as interfering or placing food out for the cat(s) only makes it more difficult. Thank you to M. L. who reached out for support for this cat needing vet care. Intake is officially closed for realsies. If you would like to donate toward the new kid’s care, e-transfers can be sent to [email protected]. We also accept donations of alcohol empties!

As always, spay and neuter your pets!

There’s a rescue update at the end of this!

Our spicy gal, Monica, saw the vet today! After years of reproducing, there will be no more baby-making for this little lady! Thank you to her colony caretakers for ensuring even the unsocialized kids receive love and care 💕
I restocked some basic meds today as well, bringing the total to $637.77.
Thank you to Pam and Barb for offering to cover Monica’s vetting! The remaining $459.52 was out-of-pocket, just like the out-of-pocket $4,406.42 of vetting costs in July alone. These totals do not include the 1000+ dollars spent on food, litter, other supplies, gas, etc. throughout the month, or my time.
I’m not some loaded lottery winner, or intergenerationally wealthy person (or wealthy person period 😂). I’m just a silly goose who works a boatload to pay vet bills for spicy street cats and their kids 😂

Unfortunately, intake is now closed, and I am pausing TNR efforts for the time being. With the extent to which I have poured into this rescue cup, the cup runneth over. Despite the amount that I work, it just isn’t enough to sustain the rescue at the rate at which I’m operating (which may not be huge by any means, but it’s significant to me 😂). Donations for the care of feral and unsocialized cats have always been pretty limited, making this quite the endeavour😂 I love what I do, and I care very much for the cats, but until I recoup some costs, I will need to set some boundaries. Stay tuned for some upcoming fundraisers, thanks to the support and help of community members, to assist with this mission of financial recovery 😂

Thank you so much for all your support, and for joining me on this wild journey; I’m truly grateful for the wonderful people I’ve met!

As always, please spay and neuter your pets!

Update: Adopted!!

✨Taking Adoption Applications✨

The Hobbits are ready to leave The Shire!!
Don’t expect to get anything done with any of these kids around - they all bring the energy and heckin’ cuddles - it’s actually the best!
One thing is for sure: you will absolutely fall in love with all four of these kids, even just seeing them in a photo :’)
Okay, maybe two things are for sure - not only will you fall in love, you will also have to say goodbye to any storage space you have left on your phone… you can bet your butt you’ll be loading up your camera roll with their cute antics 😂

Merry and Pippin (grey tabby kids) are so so funny, and truly embody the personalities of their namesakes - their love for adventure, games, banter, and food, are so prominent, it may be the most fitting naming I’ve ever done! They are such well-rounded little ladies, they love to play, but also love to cuddle so much!
Merry and Pippin make themselves right at home curled up in your lap, on the couch for movie nights (usually Cat T.V. - this is their house; I’m just living in it), or right next to your laptop when you’re trying to work 😂 Merry and Pippin see you and instantly purr. They are happy-go-lucky, and will make their future family so happy!
They love to play with all kinds of toys, including springs, wand toys, ball towers, soft toys, and all the fun stuff (interactive toys, cat trees and tunnels included)!

Frodo (beige/buff) and Sam (white) are ideally looking for a home together, but would do well apart as long as they have other cat friends! These two love life! When they’re not playing, you’ll find them cuddled up, following one another around, or sharing the love with their people!
Frodo and Sam love wand toys, springs, fluffy mice toys, and pretty much everything! They would also hate for me to not mention their love for their tunnels, cat trees, and interactive toys,!so let me add that here. These two are hilarious and cute, and are ready to find their family!

I will also mention that all The Hobbits come with a built-in low-volume alarm system that goes off pretty regularly the moment they realize it’s wet food o’clock - don’t you worry, though, this hilariously adorable perk is included in the adoption fee 😉

The Hobbits’ adoption fees include spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, nail trim, and multiple rounds of flea/tick/earmite and deworming treatments. Send us a message, or email [email protected], for more information!
