These two adorable puppies (Ruby and Junie) came in for their vaccines and were absolute superstars! 🥰💉

They handled their visit like champs—and were very happy to discover that vaccines come with treats! 🦴😋

A few tasty rewards, and two happy puppies on their way to growing up healthy and strong. 🐶🐶❤️

Summer is a wonderful way to enjoy the outdoors with your furry companion, but a little preparation can help keep everyone safe and happy.

Before you head out, remember to pack your pet's essentials:

🎒 Plenty of fresh water and a travel bowl
🥣 Enough food and treats for the trip
💊 Any medication your pet needs
🩹 A pet first aid kit
🦮 A sturdy leash and collar with up-to-date ID tags
🛏️ A familiar bed or blanket to help them feel at home
📋 Vaccination records

While you're enjoying nature:

✅ Keep your pet leashed to protect them from wildlife and unfamiliar hazards.
✅ Check for ticks after hikes and walks.
✅ Never leave your pet unattended at the campsite.
✅ Keep human food safely out of reach.
✅ Watch for signs of overheating and make sure your pet always has access to shade and fresh water.

Don't forget to make sure your pet is up to date on their vaccinations and parasite prevention before your adventure.

As wildfires continue to affect communities across B.C., many families are facing evacuation, uncertainty, and heartbreaking loss.

Please remember that now is not the time for sightseeing or unnecessary travel into affected areas. Respect evacuation orders, keep roads clear for emergency crews, and be mindful of those who are displaced or worried about their homes, farm animals, pets and loved ones.

🐾 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝘀. Local shelters, rescues, veterinary teams, and volunteers are working hard to help pets displaced by the fires. If you are able, consider donating to or supporting a reputable pet rescue and animal welfare organizations assisting with wildfire evacuations. We understand it can be frustrating when your pet is doing well on their medication and you just need a refill. So why is a Bi-annual or Annual examination—and sometimes bloodwork—required?

Even if your pet seems happy and healthy, many conditions can progress without obvious signs. An annual exam allows your veterinarian to detect subtle changes early and ensure the current treatment is still appropriate.

Pets receiving long-term treatment for conditions such as arthritis, heart disease, thyroid disease, diabetes, kidney disease, or seizures need regular checkups. Monitoring helps us evaluate how well the medication is working, identify side effects, and adjust the treatment plan as your pet's needs change.

If the pavement is too hot for your hand, it's too hot for your pet's paws. On warm summer days, asphalt and concrete can quickly reach temperatures that may cause painful burns.

Try walking your pets during the cooler morning or evening hours and stick to grassy or shaded areas whenever possible. Keep those paws protected this summer! 🐶❤️
