Well, 2016 is going to be a year of adventure. This one, my first attempt at painting an underwater scene, is a tropical underwater scene inspired by a trip we made a few years back to Mexico where I went snorkelling on a reef.

This is acrylic on a 18" X 24" canvass.

This one is close to home. It's the house at 92 Cherry Lane, just up the Street. The house has a history which I'm in the process of recording. While abandoned now, in it's day it would have been a grand country home for a St John's merchant or a fishing schooner Captain.
Apparently the house wasn't built on this site but was moved inland from the waters edge many years ago. The Poplar trees lining the street have been cut back severely as they grew, leaving little foliage. Younger Children from the area think the old house haunted, maybe it is.
This painting, acrylic on a 24 X 24 gallery canvas, depicts a early morning setting in late summer- early fall.
