It’s hard to believe 2 years have gone by since we opened our shop doors. I had thoughts about opening a shop long before I signed the lease for our space and spent months planning and dreaming of what that would look like.
I spent a lot of time designing the physical space to be fun and vibrant, a place that you’re excited to go and less like a chore to go and grab your pet’s food. But more than that I wanted it to feel a certain way when you walked in: A place where everyone feels welcome, like old friends who walk in the door after time apart. Where every dog is excited to visit for the attention and snackies to come. Where the staff remember you and your pet by name and are happy to help. And where we have something to offer every customer at every budget, and not a bougie store that prices out the community they’re in.
With more and more people choosing big business and the convenience of shopping online it’s important to support the special places in our communities. The local coffee shops, the nurseries, the unique places that open. The ones that when we travel abroad and find we think, “Wow I wish that we had something like this at home!”. We would not exist if it wasn’t for the love and unwavering support of all of you. Visiting us at local markets for over a decade now, going out of your way to order from us each week for Treat Tuesday, for recommending us to family and friends, and for being patrons of our special little shop.
THANK YOU for such a wonderful turn out today to celebrate two years of our little shop. All the stories and well-wishes, thank you to my wonderful staff for always going above and beyond, to my family and friends for all their help, to Dana at Paws & Claws for spending the day with us, and to all of you, for making Boou Bakery as wonderful as it is.
