My mini & me at the BEST badass amazing farm in town Shannon & Mike Farrell 🧡 💚 🤎 🎃 🧄 we looooooooooove you Mike & Shannon . Thanks for putting on a great event. And also, in the 20 mins total we were there - we ran into so many people we know. Which was hilarious and splendid. Annika | Intuitive readings + coaching Kayla Marie Lemon Ruby Franklin

is just such a cool specimen. Surrounded by a region filled with epic gnarled old salty cedars, sharp spruce, shaggy cypress, floppy hemlock…. Here is the sequoia. Growing exactly how every kid draws their first (non deciduous) tree. 🌲 Pretty close to how I still draw a tree (haven’t entered my patient-enough-to-sit-and-draw-well-era). Incredible bark that weaves into itself like a Nordic braid. Shape that requires zero human manipulation. Patiently waits for December to roll around so it can receive its annual adornment of Christmas lights. This genus is the world’s largest tree by volume. They can grow for thousands of years and they all start from a seed the size of an oatmeal flake. Because of their lengthy lifespan, they are also a living time capsule which can tell the story of weather conditions per year of growth, and any battle wounds. I also love that they rock out on their own. No need for anything else within considerable proximity.

-New to me- plant discovery and appreciation. It was only about a month ago that I discovered this unique, drought tolerant, semi evergreen, heat loving, sun soaking, low maintenance, disease & pest free, un-fussy, flowering buddies. Thanks Valley Succulents for carrying this specimen for me to bring to our clients.

Now you see it (the immense overgrowth on this bank leading to the ocean) …… and now you don’t. (A serious cleanup on a very steep spot!) Now, let me clarify - we kept all the root systems in place to stabilize and continue fortifying the bank itself. The plants were almost all native species (which we love) and now they have a nice re-set to grow into again. (Which they absolutely will) Snowberries, ferns, more ferns, alder, willow, maple, salmonberry, thimble berry. Cedars & fir were untouched to continue their growth. The clients get to continue enjoying their stunning views of Seal 🦭 Bay. Thankyou for having us spider man up and down this spot for a 1 day cleanup. Everyone had their highest of mountain climber / goat 🐐 / monkey 🐒 vibes locked in.

The best way to load a wheelbarrow is the way that lets the machine do all the heavy lifting. 🤩 In landscaping (like any other skilled trade), there are definitely ways to work smarter - not harder. I try to coach the team as much as possible on ways to get the most done without doing a number on their body. These tips and tricks come from years of experience, from doing it wrong the first time, from trying different ways and learning what works and what doesn’t. Guidance from those who were my senior and masters who taught me when I was an apprentice. OG Gardens Inc. (Tom) Ivan (Ivan) and alllllllllll the mentors/professionals at Great Canadian Landscaping . I am forever and ever deeply grateful for all the people who took me under their wing and trained me from zero to where I am now. 🙏❤️ 🌿 Thankyou!

Some (29 to be exact!) Virginia creeper we installed for Broadstreet Properties. Broadstreet Properties . They are going along nicely, after being planted the day after water restrictions came into effect 🤪. (June 23) We gave them nice deep holes and great soil + mulch. Planted with organic fish bone meal and given bamboo stakes (that they apparently don’t care for) - we set them up for success. And here they are, succeeding. Yippie!
