Wren is heading back to school for her final year of the Registered Veterinary Technician program. She is such an important part of our team, and we’re excited to watch her take this final step toward becoming an RVT.

Meet Bruce, Collingwood Veterinary Services’ August Pet of the Month!

At 15 months old, this handsome English Lab has already mastered both sides of social media: the beautiful, Instagram-worthy poses among the flowers and the slightly less glamorous reality involving an e-collar, a gate, a crate filled with what appear to be chewed-up blankets and, naturally, a very important stick.

Bruce’s family shared this lovely note with us:

“Bruce is my fun-loving and goofy 15 month old English lab that loves nothing more than socializing with other dogs. In fact at the doggy day-care that I take him to once a week they refer to Bruce as the ‘Mr Party’! I want thank all the staff at the Collingwood Veterinary Services for their dedication and determination in diagnosing and successfully medicating Bruce this summer. Not many dogs ‘enjoy’ going to the Vet but Bruce seemed to love the attention.

If you see Bruce on the Trail be sure to stop and say hello.”

🐾 July Pet of the Month | Meet Ivy! 🐾

We’re a little late celebrating our July Pet of the Month, but we think you’ll agree that sweet Ivy is worth the wait! 💙

Ivy’s family shared this wonderful glimpse into her very busy and very happy life:

“Our sweet Ivy knows all about the good life! She’s an energetic and loving girl who keeps her family entertained with her antics and games.

After greeting her doggie friends on her daily morning walk, she heads out to her yard to nap, leisurely chase robins and squirrels, and wait for an easy game of fetch. The game begins as Ivy makes sure she beats her human to the toy box to choose the toy she wants.

Ivy loves to race around the house carrying and shaking her much loved Monkey and Hamburger (favourite toys), squeaking and inviting anyone to share in the game. Sharing her ‘pool’ with her bestie Tomba is a fun way to beat the heat.

Ivy finds lots of wonderful places to sniff while walking at Craigleith Provincial Park, where she likes to have a drink and wet her belly along the shore.

Ivy never misses an opportunity to ‘help’ her mom garden and Mike barbecue. This busy pup also finds time to play with her buddies at the Bark Park (Doggie Day Care) once a week!

Treats are always a priority to Ivy. A taste of peanut butter can coax her to do almost anything!”

WELCOME DR. AUTUMN KELLY to COLLINGWOOD VETERINARY SERVICES!

We’re pleased to welcome Dr. Autumn Kelly to the team at Collingwood Veterinary Services!

A graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College, Dr. Autumn has spent the past six years practicing companion animal medicine in our local community. She brings experience in general medicine and soft tissue surgery, along with a strong commitment to animal welfare through her work with the local humane society.

Dr. Autumn’s professional interests include soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and compassionate end-of-life care. She values building lasting relationships with clients and providing thoughtful, individualized care throughout every stage of a pet’s life.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Autumn enjoys spending time with her husband and their rescue cat, Maybelle. She also enjoys CrossFit, cycling, tending to her flower garden, and spending time outdoors.

We feel very fortunate to have Dr. Autumn join Collingwood Veterinary Services and bring her experience and commitment to the pets and families in our community.

Not every part of a veterinarian’s day is spent in the exam room.

Medical records, follow-up calls, reviewing lab results, and planning patient care are all part of providing great veterinary medicine.

Luckily, Dr. Clarissa had a little help today! Ranger (VA Natalie’s dog) supervised from the table, while Raven kept watch from the floor.

At Collingwood Veterinary Services, every day feels a little like Take Your Dog to Work Day… and we think the office is better because of it. 🐾❤️
