Shared - Please consider this sweet boy Pinto ❤️
You may have already seen Pinto on social media. This deserving little senior needs help, and BTRC needs you to make sure he gets it. 🙏🏻
At 13 years old, Pinto isn’t looking for much – a safe place to land, someone to love and, ideally, a spot under the covers.
Given Pinto’s age and medical needs, it is possible that he may become a Set for Life foster if a suitable adoptive home cannot be found. If that happens, BTRC will continue to cover all approved veterinary care and medical expenses for the rest of his life. His foster provides his food, the everyday dog stuff, a safe haven and, most importantly, the love.
Pinto is currently in Montreal, QC. We’re told he’s an active, affectionate 20-lb. Boston who enjoys his walks, gives kisses freely and is happiest tucked under the covers with his person. He has lived with dogs, cats and even rabbits, and could potentially live with respectful children.
He does come with some senior-dog medical needs. Pinto has heart disease and takes Vetmedin twice daily. He is currently intact and has an enlarged prostate and mild perineal hernia, so BTRC will have our veterinarian assess whether neutering is appropriate. He also marks indoors, but happily wears a belly band.
Pinto’s biggest challenge? He REALLY likes his people. He can be vocal when left alone or when he can’t be close to them, so we’re looking for a home where someone is around much of the time and can accommodate a little senior who would prefer to be included in everything.
He will also require further medical assessment, including likely at least one visit with a veterinary ophthalmologist. Bonus points if you’re reasonably close to a specialist hospital – or are willing and able to drive him to one when needed. BTRC covers the approved veterinary bills; his foster needs to be able to get him there.
Pinto urgently needs a person willing to say, “Welcome home, Pinto.”

Pinto still has a good quality of life and plenty of walks, kisses and under-the-cover snuggles left to give. We’d really like the next move he makes to be the one where he can finally unpack his little suitcase for good. 🧳
At 13 years old, Pinto shouldn’t have to wonder where he belongs. 😞
