Hey All!

It’s that time of year again! SUMMER CAMP!
We will be offering 2 weeks again this summer with a new format!

Our July 8th-12th week will be a regular week of GSR camp with daily lessons, educational games, stable management lessons, obstacle courses, and so much fun!

Our August 12th-16th week will be competition camp.

Our competition camp is new for 2024. It’s geared towards riders who already have experience in the saddle! Athletes will learn braiding skills, show prep, goal setting, show etiquette, horse and rider fitness and so much more! Gain important knowledge from coach Nickis 18 years of competition experience from schooling shows all the way to FEI! At the end of our fun filled camp week we will run our in barn Summer Splash GSR show on Friday August 16th. Bring your own horse or use one of ours for this week of camp!

Epic day for team guidingstareventing at Wits End Eventing Kindergarten III!
•
Cassie gave Blue a confident ride around her first event and first time on a xc course finishing 5th in the junior tadpole division!

Elise and Willow tackled there first event together. Being placed 6th after dressage in a competitive division of 10 riders! Unfortunately they parted ways on xc but finished the day with a smile and an epic story!

Kenzie and Chili upgraded to the pre-entry level in preparation for their debut at a recognized event in a couple weeks. Kenzie rode one of the most beautiful stadium rounds and gave Chili the confidence she needed on xc to finish 8th in the junior pre-entry.

Each time we go out all our kids represent the barn with such incredible sportsmanship! So very proud of them!

Team Guiding Star Eventing took on Glen Oro Farm horse trials!
•
Sammy and Royal Dutchess made the upgrade to pre-training and rocked it bringing home 7th place! They’re learned lots about each other at only there second event together and are excited for the rest of the season!

Kenzie and Finnegan also made the upgrade to Pre-Training and smashed it bringing home 8th place! This is also a new partnership that have now completed 2 events together! Very excited to see Kenzie and the super pony complete the rest of the season!

Coach Nicki and her baby horse Eddie upgraded to entry level! Eddie was calm cool and collected to finish in 4th place!

Team Guiding Star Eventing had an excellent start to the season at Wits End Eventing Kindergarten this past weekend!

Kenzie Cheslock partnered with Finn to lay down a beautiful dressage test and rock around the pre-entry finishing in 3rd!

Madison Matthews and Rj completed their first event together! Finishing with a double clear putting them right behind Kenzie in the pre-entry division for 4th place.

Ayla Nicholson not only took on her very first event but took her pony Nova who had never been to one either! They put down a spectacular dressage test that landed them in 3rd place out of 16 at the beginning of the day. Unfortunately there was a miscommunication in stadium which led to Nova jumping out of the ring.

Mia Nicholson rode her butt off on her spooky pony Whinnie! Finishing double clear and in 4th place in the tadpole division!

Huge thanks to wits end for putting this event on aswell as all the volunteers who were there to help it run!

Bring on the 2021 season!

**Important Covid-19 update**

With the province wide lockdown coming into affect, as of December 26th we will be postponing all lessons until further notice.

Boarders are still permitted on the property for essential care to their animals including exercise riding.

Contact Nicki for scheduling so we can be sure to social distance at all times.

All mask and sanitization protocols are still in place!

Spectacular weekend!!! Thanks everyone who came out to our GSR dressage Spooktacular both in person and virtually ( )! We spent the morning judging some spectacular dressage riders and costumes! Then we spent the evening in the Forest of Fear getting plenty of screams and memories to last a lifetime!

Team GSR had a fabulous time the other day at another one of our combined shows with DVR! Here are our highlights of the day!

🏅Meisha and Finn received two 2nds, a 6th, and Reserve Champion!
🏅Bryce and Scooty got a 5th, 6th, and a 3rd!
🏅Elle (at her first show ever) placed 1st in the pattern class with Peachy!

🏅Nora and Peachy came home with a 3rd, a 4th, and a 2nd!
🏅Mia and Finn received a 3rd, two 1sts and Champion!

🏅Ayla and Nova rocked around getting a 1st, two 2nds, and Reserve Champion!

🏅Maddy and Finn got a 1st, two 2nds, and Reserve Champion!

So beyond proud of all of our riders today! Many completing a lot of firsts like first horse show, first ribbons, first canter classes, and first vertical classes. All of our riders rode their hearts out and showed great sportsmanship. Wouldn’t want to have any other people representing our team!

We would also like to give a warm GSR welcome to our newest rider Madison! Shes been off riding since September but knocked the rust off super quick with Finn! So excited to have her on our team!
