Fancy, the cutest 3yo little mare came to our training program to work on some bad habits and to get her more broke as she only had 20ish rides. She was supposed to stay for 30 days, but she was doing sooooo good her owner decided to keep her in training for 60days . Fancy is incredibly smart, athletic and very sensible, she was really fun to work with !

By the end of her training, Fancy had a solid start in the barrel pattern, all the fun and fancy buttons to go persue any discipline with her owner, and of course learned our signature trick “smileeeee” 🤡

Thank you Vanessa for trusting our program with your baby girl🫶 It was such a pleasure working with Fancy ! We wish you and Fancy all the success and the best of luck for your new life chapter in Texas 🇺🇸

There’s just something about saddling up, leaving the busy behind and spending a little time in the saddle with the people who make the miles that much better 🍂🤎

🤎 OUR WHY 🤎

We’ve got a few new faces around here as we head into a new season and it got us thinking about why we do what we do.

It’s the early mornings, hard work and the horses, but most importantly, it’s our students. Watching you all grow in confidence, learn responsibility, build friendships and find your place around horses is what makes it all worth it.

The horses teach us patience, responsibility, courage and the community that comes together here is what makes it all so special. Every horse, every rider, every family and every new face becomes a little part of what makes this place home.

That is our why. This is Wild West Ranch Alberta. 🐴🤎

These boys are our old man crew! A “little” slower, a little wiser and absolutely still convinced they need to be involved in EVERYTHING. 😂

These old boys may have a few more grey hairs but they’ve earned their place in the herd. There’s just something special about an older horse. The patience, the willingness, years of stories, plenty of personality and a whole lot of heart. 🤎

Here’s to the OGs of the pasture! ✨

🤎 September STAFF SPOTLIGHT: CASSIE 🤎

Admin | Mom of Three | Professional Kid Taxi 🚕

This month, we’re shining the spotlight on one of the familiar faces helping keep things running behind the scenes at Wild West Ranch Alberta, Cassie!

Originally from Southern Saskatchewan, Cassie grew up on a cattle and grain farm, with horses and the western way of life always close to home. Years later, horses found their way back into her everyday life when her daughter started riding at WWRA. It didn’t take long for Cassie and her family to feel right at home and what started with riding lessons soon grew into becoming part of the ranch family.

When she’s not helping out behind the scenes at WWRA, Cassie has plenty keeping her busy! She’s a mom of three and alongside her husband, helps run their family construction business, all while somehow keeping up with three kids and their schedules.

Most days, you’ll find her playing taxi to barrel racing land, games and everything in between. When she gets a chance to slow things down, Cassie loves escaping to the mountains, spending time with her family and enjoying the outdoors.

For Cassie, WWRA has become more than just the place her daughter rides, it’s become a community her whole family gets to be a part of.

We’re so happy to have Cassie as part of our WWRA family and appreciate everything she does behind the scenes to help keep our little ranch world running. 🤎
