As we end our season in the Neigh-sayers ring at the Chesterville Fair grounds I’d like to say a big thank you to Darren Cooper!

Darren always makes the ring look amazing and the footing perfect for our horses and riders.

From all of us to you, thank you for ensuring we have a well maintained ring to use 👏🏼

Hooves & Haunt 2026 is officially in the books! 🎃🐴🍂

And if I’m being completely honest, my heart is FULL.

I can’t thank everyone enough for showing up, pitching in, getting a little spooky, eating a lot of pie, and helping make our very first Hooves & Haunt such a success!

Thank you to the Chesterville & District Agricultural Society for believing in this idea and standing behind me as we started what I hope becomes a new tradition in our community. 🧡

Thank you to all of our amazing vendors for joining us and sharing your beautiful creations, products, and talents. We are so lucky to have such incredible local businesses and makers!

To everyone who brought their horses out for the Haunted Harvest Trail — THANK YOU! 🐴🧙‍♀️ I hope the horses thought the spooky obstacles were fun and not grounds for filing a formal complaint 😜

And to everyone who entered our Wicked Good Pie Contest🍎🍒🥧 You all brought your A-game! There was talent, there was competition, and there was absolutely no shortage of pie.

A special thank you to our 2026 Municipal Candidates for volunteering their time to judge and taste all those delicious pies. Truly, some jobs are harder than others 🤭

And we can’t forget Shelley & Jacques Patenaude for completely spookifying our mini putt! 👻⛳ Along with April, Cheyanne & Justin for bringing the idea forward and putting in muscle, and probably a little bit of chaos required to make it happen!

And finally, to every single person who came through the gate, whether you came to ride, play, shop, eat, volunteer, donate, cheer someone on, or just enjoy a fall day with your family…

I genuinely teared up more than once today. Seeing people enjoying something that started as just an idea in my head was pretty special.

You showed up. You supported it. You laughed with us. You made memories with us.

And apparently… you’ve given me permission to start planning the next one because the gears are already turning. 😂🎃

So, from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU!

Here’s to the first of what I hope are many Hooves & Haunts. 🐴🍂👻

For all those who will be entering our pie contest tomorrow

The contest will be held in the Agricultural Hall

Please have your pies entered before 1pm as judging starts at that time 🕐

We kindly ask when you enter, you fill out a card with your name, number and category you’re entering

Once the judging is completed and scores are tallied we will announce the winners of the Golden Rolling Pins live on Facebook

Join us at the Chesterville Fairgrounds October 4th from 11:00 AM–3:00 PM for a fun-filled fall day for the whole community!
Admission is by a non-perishable food item or monetary donation at the gate, with proceeds supporting our community efforts.

There will be something for everyone throughout the day, including:

🐴Haunted Harvest Obstacle Trail — Horses and riders/handlers are invited to take on the trail and dress up in their best Halloween costumes!

Games & Activities for all:
• 🧹Witches Broom Race
• 🎃Pumpkin Tic Tac Toe
• 🍎Apple Bobbing
• 🌽Corn Cob Toss
• 👀The Great Pumpkin Hunt: find the hidden pumpkins around the fairgrounds and collect some candy!
• 🖍Colouring Contest, all ages welcome!

🥧The Wicked Good Pie Contest
Bring your best pie! We have three categories, with the winner of each taking home the Golden Rolling Pin.

Wicked Good Fall Flavour
Wickedly Creative

Please bring your pies by 12:30, judging begins at 1:00 PM!
Our 2026 Municipal election candidates will be judging 👏

🧑‍🌾Scarecrow Contest
Build your own scarecrow and bring it to display at the fairgrounds. It will be judged by everyone who comes through, winner gets serious bragging rights!

Local vendors will be set up ✔

Extreme Fear will be joining with a display ✔

The Trackless Train will be giving rides around the fairgrounds ✔

Costumes are encouraged for everyone; the spookier, sillier, and more creative, the better!

Thank you to those who attended A Feed Room Session today with A.A. Equine Services
Aaliyah Hage-Hassan did a wonderful job explaining nutrition, body scoring, what horses need, how to help their diet and so much more!

A fun trail ride was an extra bonus 🥰
