A curry comb is one of the most underrated tools in your grooming kit 🐴✨

Not only does it help lift dirt, dust, and loose hair from your horse’s coat, but it also plays a huge role in overall body health. When used properly, a curry comb stimulates circulation and works into the fascia — the connective tissue surrounding muscles — helping to loosen tension and improve mobility.
Think of it like a mini massage for your horse:✔️ Promotes a healthier, shinier coat✔️ Encourages blood flow✔️ Helps release tight or sore areas✔️ Supports muscle function and comfort

Slow down, be intentional, and notice how your horse responds — you’ll often see them relax, stretch, and truly enjoy it.

A better coat is just a bonus… the real goal is a happier, more comfortable horse 💛

Tied to a fence, trailers rattling backing up in front of her, and yet she is standing 100% still, comfortable and willing during her trim, this isn’t luck it’s training.

This is a mare off the track, she is known for kicking, the work was put in to make sure that she is okay with her back feet being handled and comfortable to hold her weight on 3 legs.

As someone who trains horses as well as trims them, unless it is pain related, or due to limitation of limb movement (which should be discussed prior to working on them) there is zero excuse for horses not to stand. This mare specifically did not stand 3 months ago, it took picking feet up daily, not just for 2 seconds but holding them up for 30seconds to a minute at a time, ground work, making sure she understands our body language and that she is willing to move around and with people.

All that being said it is also your farrier’s job to understand the animals physical limitations, and how to work making it as comfortable and efficient as possible for the horse.

Horse efforts - how they effect your farrier and trim
The better they stand - the better the trim will be
Less pulling - less muscle soreness and fatigue
Potential kicking risk made aware beforehand - farrier can keep themselves in a safe position

The job itself is not dangerous, not being upfront or honest about your horses, and not training them is what makes our job dangerous.

Pre-show season is almost here 🐎✨
What better way to kick off show season than with a soothing massage.

Regular massage sessions can:
• Improve flexibility and range of motion• Reduce muscle tension and soreness• Enhance circulation and recovery• Support relaxation and focus in the ring• Help prevent injuries before they start

Just like us, our horses perform at their best when their bodies feel healthy and supported. Incorporating massage into your pre-season routine can make a noticeable difference in performance and comfort!
A relaxed, happy horse = a confident and successful ride 🐴✨

🐴 Signs Your Horse May Need Bodywork

Horses can’t tell us when something feels tight or uncomfortable — but their body does show us. Here are some common signs your horse may benefit from bodywork:

• Stiffness when picking up a lead
• Difficulty bending one direction
• Shortened stride or uneven movement
• Resistance under saddle
• Pinning ears during grooming or saddling
• Muscle soreness or sensitivity to touch
• Trouble engaging the hind end
• Behavioral changes (grumpy, unwilling, “lazy”)

✨ Catching these signs early can prevent compensation patterns and bigger issues down the road.

Have you noticed any of these in your horse lately? Reach out so we can get you in the schedule!
