Some of you may already recognize Clara, as she has ridden along with our veterinary team in the past. We are so excited to officially welcome her to our practice and have her join our team!

Clara is a new graduate who brings with her a wonderful combination of enthusiasm, compassion, curiosity, and a genuine love for both animals and people. She is such a warm and welcoming young woman, and we know she will be a wonderful addition to our practice.

As a new grad, Clara is eager to continue learning, build her skills, and grow as a veterinarian. We’re excited to support her along the way and watch her develop her own unique style and confidence as she begins this next chapter of her career.

We’re SO excited and grateful to see the finishing touches coming together at the clinic!

On-Farm Radiography Services…..

Miller Veterinary Service is proud to offer on-farm radiography services.

X-rays are an important diagnostic tool that veterinarians use to evaluate a horse’s bones, joints, feet, and other structures.

X-rays may be recommended for:

Lameness or pain – to help identify the source of soreness or changes in movement.

Injuries – to check for fractures, chips, or other bone damage.

Joint and bone conditions – including arthritis, OCD, and other abnormalities.

Hoof and foot problems – such as laminitis or navicular disease, as well as to assist with therapeutic farriery.

Pre-purchase examinations – to identify existing or potential orthopedic concerns.

Monitoring treatment – to track healing or progression of an existing condition.

Dental or sinus concerns – to evaluate areas that cannot be fully assessed externally.

Our X-ray equipment can also be used on calves, making it a versatile diagnostic tool for both equine and livestock patients.

Radiographs can provide valuable information to help veterinarians make an accurate diagnosis and develop an appropriate treatment plan.

Affected Lot: 24416CA

Please do the following:
1) Check the lot number and expiry date on any Adequan® IM Equine you purchased from us.
2) If your product matches Lot 24416CA (Expiry Nov 30, 2027), please contact the clinic for a replacement at no additional cost.

We were lucky at Miller Veterinary Service to have the expertise and enthusiasm of Lucie Weiland, a fourth-year veterinary student from the Ontario Veterinary College, with us this week!

I had the privilege of having her ride along in my truck for two and a half days, and I learned a lot from her. We shared plenty of laughs, had some great conversations about life, and—oh yes—we even managed to get a little work done in between!

During her time with us, Lucie performed her first C-section on a young Belgian Blue heifer and also removed a growing melanoma from the side of a Jersey heifer. She was a strong diagnostician in our cases, eager to learn, and built an excellent rapport with our farmers. Her people skills will take her a long way in what I'm sure will be a successful veterinary career.

Like every great veterinarian, Lucie recognizes that there is always more to learn and areas to continue developing and that's something we can all relate to.

The entire team at MVS enjoyed getting to know Lucie, and we're excited to follow the next chapter of her professional journey. Wishing you all the best in your future endeavours, Lucie!
