We have a feeling the donkeys have a few favourite people they are missing. ❤️

We can’t wait to welcome their favourite visitors back again this spring!

The hay is fresh, and apparently so is the gossip. ☕️

Nothing brings the whole herd together quite like a good meal and a little paddock "tea". 😅

We won’t name names… but somebody definitely came with updates. 👀

What do you think they're talking about?? Give us your best guess in the comments!

Donkeys benefit from some feel-good therapy, too!

At our recent Hay Day event (which was a HUGE success, THANK YOU to everyone who came out to support the Refuge!) we had BEMER on-site demonstrating their incredible Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Technology.

It helps improve circulation, encourages deep relaxation, supports aging and joint health, and speeds recovery after injury.

We're so grateful for the BEMER blanket we have at the Refuge so we can give the donkeys the specialized care they deserve 🩵

Sometimes the things that seem simple to us can mean so much more to them.

A safe place to rest, enough food, companionship, space to move, and people they can learn to trust are all part of what refuge looks like.

At Turtle Valley Donkey Refuge, those everyday things are what help create a life that feels safe, steady, and cared for.

And none of it would be possible without the kindness of the people who support the refuge.

To everyone who has donated, visited, volunteered, shared our story, or helped in any way, thank you for being part of their care. ❤️

Meet George!

George is our poster boy for all things that could go wrong (said with love, of course!)

He is strong and handsome and loves attention.

He is a fan favorite because of all of the adversity he has overcome in his life. He may have spent up to sixteen years of his life in a windowless shed without the companionship of other donkeys.

While his unfortunate upbringing made it a bit of a challenge to find him a place in the herd, he has found himself a home with our mules, and they now spend their time in the Big Barn with the other Donkeys.

You can sponsor George on the donation page by choosing “Sponsor George” from the drop down list on the donation page.

It's only $50 to sponsor a donkey, and sponsorship goes directly towards their care for the year.

A gift of a donkey sponsorship makes a lovely gift for a loved one, too
