As temperatures start to drop, you may be wondering how long your dog should spend outdoors. The answer depends on factors like their size, coat type, and age. Keep an eye out for signs they're getting too cold, such as slowing down, shivering, or lifting their paws. When you notice these cues, it's time to head inside and warm up.

Check out our Cold Weather Lookbook for more expert tips on keeping your pet safe and comfortable this season. 🐾❄️

🐾 A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Pet Pantry Program Supporters!

We want to extend a huge thank you to Pet Valu and Global Pet Foods Charlottetown for their recent, generous donation of dog food to our Pet Pantry Program.

Since launching this initiative back in December 2025, we have been able to keep it running strong thanks to the ongoing generosity of local pet and feed stores.

Once these donations are received, the food is sorted into smaller bags and delivered directly to our community partners:

Summerside Salvation Army
The Upper Room Hospitality Ministry Inc.
Montague Food Bank

These vital partnerships ensure that families facing difficult times can access food for both themselves and their beloved pets.

We also want to shout out a massive thank you to Katherine Mourad, the dedicated volunteer who runs the logistics for this entire program. Katherine handles everything behind the scenes, from coordinating the donation pickups and doing all the rebagging to managing the deliveries and drop-offs across the island. This program truly wouldn't be possible without her incredible hard work.

It takes a community to make programs like this work. Thank you to everyone who helps us keep companion animals fed and families supported! ❤️
