The Charlottetown Veterinary Clinic is pleased to have serviced Prince Edward Island’s veterinary needs for more than fifty years, having been established in 1952 by Dr. Hammond Kelly. Over the years the building itself has undergone various renovations in order to accommodate the ever-changing veterinary industry. All of our vets attend continuing education during the year to keep abreast of new developments and procedures within the veterinary field.

For Veterinary Technician appreciation month we would like to introduce you to our RVT, Amber.

Amber decided to do her OJT with us in 2022 and we loved her so much we decided to keep her.

Amber's special interest are anesthesia and anything that involves surgery. During Amber's spare time she enjoys going for walks, the movies and always going to the Bingo hall to win at Bingo.

Amber is known at CVC for being her hilarious self, caring and always dancing for the animals to distract them with her awesome dance moves.

For Veterinary Technician Appreciation Month, let us introduce one of our veterinary technicians, Martine.

Martine graduated from Collège Laflèche in Quebec in 2020. She joined our wonderful team last year and is thrilled to be a part of it. In her first couple of weeks, she assisted Dr. Daley in performing surgery on a little kitten (the black and white kitten in the pictures). Martine has special interests in anesthesia and behavior.

Martine owns a chocolate Labrador named Nova. In her spare time, she likes to go camping, travel, and go to the beach. Nova is always part of the adventures.

To contuine with Veterinary Technician month we would like to introduce you to Nich.

Nich is an RVT who has been working in veterinary hospitals in PEI since he graduated from Oulton College in 2016. Nich has previous experience in veterinary hospital management and is CVC’s inventory and staff scheduling manager.

While Nich isn’t always in a client facing position at CVC, his favourite aspects of veterinary medicine are feline medicine and fostering a strong veterinary-client-patient relationship.

Outside of work, Nich loves travelling and exploring new places.

To start off Veterinary Technician Appreciation Month, we would like to introduce you to our RVT, Hailey.

Hailey graduated from Oulton College in 2020 and quickly landed a job here at CVC, where she has been ever since. Hailey has a special interest in client education, anesthesia, and will always try to get involved in helping with exotics whenever she can.

When she is not helping animals at work, she posts updates, educates, and keeps you all informed on our clinic page. In her spare time, she loves relaxing in her hammock, catching up on her shows, crafting and cuddling with her kitty Lucy.

Hailey is known at CVC for making everyone laugh and for crying happy tears whenever cute animals come into the building.

Hey CVC Family! Did you know that October is RVT Month in Canada?

Some may ask "What is an RVT or a Veterinary Technician?" An RVT, or a Veterinary Technician is one of the many intergral parts of a veterinary team with the most diverse job description out there.

We at CVC are so very fortunate to have some AMAZING Veterinary Technicians that love being
apart of your animal's lives. We want to take a moment to say THANK YOU Hailey, Amber, Nicolle, Martine, Nich and Payton for all your hard work and dedication in enriching and improving the lives of every animal they care for on a daily basis.

Please note that our office will be closed Wednesday, September 30th and will resume regular business hours on Thursday, October 1st.
If you need food or medication before our closure, please provide 24 hours' notice for medication refills and be sure to pick up any food or medications you need before Wednesday.
🚨 When closed, in case of an emergency, please contact 902-892-4287 and our triage department will assist accordingly.
