We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Michael Barrett, MP for Leeds—Grenville—Thousand Islands—Rideau Lakes, for taking the time to attend one of our service dog training classes.

Mr. Barrett has been working to advance Canadian service dog legislation and was interested in learning more about the training, dedication, and partnership required to develop successful service dog teams.

During his visit, he had the opportunity to observe our training program, meet our trainers and handlers, and spend time with our dogs as they demonstrated their skills and progress. It was a wonderful experience to share our work and discuss the important role service dogs play in enhancing independence and quality of life.

We thoroughly enjoyed hosting Mr. Barrett, and the dogs certainly enjoyed meeting him as well. Thank you for your interest, support, and commitment to initiatives that help improve access and recognition for Service Dog teams across Canada.

We look forward to seeing the continued progress of service dog legislation and appreciate leaders who take the time to learn firsthand about the communities they serve.

Here at Ability Dogs Canada, we offer both private, group, and semi-private sessions!

🍁🍂 Happy Thanksgiving ! 🍂🍁

We are very grateful for our friends, family, dogs, and clients. We wouldn’t be here today without each and every one of you for making our mission possible.

We are grateful for the ones who battle their own brains and bodies to not give up, to all the dogs out there who gift this world with their presence everyday, and to all our supporters, volunteers, fosters, clients, and staff.

Our hearts go to all of you. Know you are noticed, appreciated, and valued. 🤍

Yesterday was a very special day for our ADC trainers. We were guests to the most beautiful wedding. Two of our clients invited us to be a part of their story. Our story with this couple started over 2 years ago with the training of a service dog for a veteran, then a second service dog was trained for his partner. We have watched this little family grow in so many ways and being at this very special event yesterday has left us with the most incredible memories. The transition we have seen not only in the dogs but the humans over the last many years warms our hearts so much. Thank you both for inviting us to be a part of your story. The honour is ours and we are so happy to have been included on your special day. You have both become a big part of ADC and very treasured friends.
